Spring has sprung! 2017 Black "betty" bear season has started. Who's tagged one yet?

Region 1 here in bc opened April 1st. Some spaces are greening up others still under snow (elevation)

Was out this long weekend, saw a little fella browsing the southern face on the lower part of the valley amongst what little green had popped up, didn't pursue it. Chose to watch the two blacktail does farther down the valley. Spotted the elk heard later in the day, on the move, places to be I guess.

Little bit of luck and a whole lot of looking but it was well worth it. Not long out of the den so the hide is the best I've ever seen.

Easy 7 footer. We've been playing musical barrels
with him for the third year now, finally he came in while
my son was watching. 180 Partition out of a 300 Win and it was all over but the skinning til 12:30.

We are hunting the bear that wrecked our deer season last November.

Have at him bud...... I am redoing my whole bear setup at camp and have a plan to the fall and and a hunt to planned next spring..... the more success I see, the more motivation.....
