Is anyone using the MDT Aics mags in their Ruger Scout, how do you like them and do they work well?
The MDTs are good to go BB…both poly and metal. I prefer magpul 5 rounders myself as they are slightly shorter than an MDT and are more aesthetically pleasing to me.

Single loading is no problem…simply drop one on the feed lips of the empty magazine and send the bolt home.
When they went with the AI magazines they essentially turned a “semi” CRF action into a “fully” center push feed one.
Still a great rifle but some guys get right pissy when you tell them their Ruger scout is a push feed.
Just to confirm:
You can’t load directly into the barrel from the port on the slide, only from the magazine? Or can the extractor be modified to allow for this?
You CAN load directly by dropping a loaded cartridge in the ejection port. All Ruger M77's MKII's allow single loading as the claw extractor is chamfered/beveled.
You're good to go.

I am new to the Gunsite rifle. Followed this thread for a while and finally took the plunge. Picked up a new/old stock and sourced a 10 round magazine. Debating using Leupold quick release QR rings but already had the Talley rings in my locker. Ultimately hoping to eventually get my hands on a Leupold Prismatic site if I can ever find one. So far I like the fit and feel of this rifle. I was never a fan of the Ruger 77 until a buddy picked up an older, compact Alaskan model in 375Ruger. Each time I had it in hand I found myself wanting something similar in 308. Looking forward to some cooler weather to pound a few rounds.
