The GSG 16 modification thread

You don't need to file anything to the inside of the stock, it's just the outside of the stock where it comes in contact with the receiver

File from the inside and it will be invisible. If using an aftermarket trigger housing you need to do additional filing of the stock at the top to get the stock pin to align properly (needs to slide in 3mm more).

Put the stock on the GSG and you will see at the top where you need to file.

Latest project

Latest build!
Newest version of the GSG16-9 for a conversion. GSG has changed the steel cocking handle again on the shaft to try and make it stronger, added an allen screw like on the original GSG16 to ensure that the flash suppressor doesn't unscrew and modified the little spring that you see thru the ejector port behind the bolt assembly with an aluminum cap on the end of the top side of the spring.

Here are some photos of the mods (showing both Trilug and MP5 flash suppressor)

I found a guy on ####### 3d printing sef lowers.
I grabbed one but it isn't the greatest quality.

Was then able to locate a NOS 522 lower from a shop in the US that will ship to Canada.

$14!

The 3D stuff is difficult to get perfect for body parts.

The 522 lower is great quality!

Bought one of these a few weeks back. I would say that is $470 well spent for the range enjoyment and I am loving the plinking experience with it. So far, it doesn't seem too picky on ammo and has been great with Federal Auto Match which is on sale in my neck of the woods.

I put a $50 Feyachi red dot on it and it works great for the money.

I have the MLOK version and was wondering what is currently available for a fore grip. Also looking to get a sling for it as well.

Are you able to post a pic of the stock with the filed down portions?
I just grabbed a stock and want to get it on asap!

Great job, looks awesome! What is the cocking handle?

Did you keep the weight in the trigger handle with the 522 lower?

Cheers

Thanks man!
A few of your builds were the inspo for mine.

Left the weight out of the lower. The gun feels weighted enough in it's current form.

The charging handle is from Travo. They're a Canadian company.
The handle is SOLID and should be up to taking HK slaps.
