The latest MP5k is all new design. The factory GSG 522pk c0cking tube is actually plastic. Here is a pick of the first prototype that I was working on earlier with the factory plastic c0cking tube.

The latest version is using a shortened aluminum c0cking tube combined with an MP5 steel front sight with swappable sight ring.
I needed to also lathe up a new charging tube as the original is too long to work with the MP5K. That allowed me to drill a hole size that works with actual steel MP5 charging handles. No more worry about breakage

I"m still finalizing the initial design right now so I don"t know how long it will take. I always loved the MP5K so it has been a lot of fun researching and doing the build.

What's the going rate for a GSG-5 conversion kit? I'm considering selling my GSG with the kit. I got it years ago and haven't really dug into completing the proper build.

But that was around a year ago.

Never seen another pop up since.

Almost ready! Need to test at the range tomorrow and a new mod to add. Soooo nice to hold, balance feels great too

BTW That can is strictly a barrel shroud and does absolutely nothing to quiet down this rifle. There are no fins, baffles or anything but a 15mm tube inside a thin aluminum can to slide over the barrel lol Exact same barrel shroud design as the GSG16 with 16" barrel.

They got the look close to perfect except for the fake 9mm rounds in the mag.

Finally some more photos of the MP5K!
Sorry I took the photos this evening with not enough natural lighting (a little washed out/grainy).

Custom Charging Tube and MP5 Steel Charging Handles. Uses 5mm allen screws instead of the factory tiny screw (2.5mm Allen Wrench).

Barrel Cover uses 3mm allen screw to fasten same as GSG16 with 16" barrel (1.5mm Allen wrench).

In the photos you can see the metal fire control selectors. They look perfect on the GSG and work identically to factory.

Will post some daylight photos this weekend

Here is my 9" 1Version. Very happy with the little carbine. I don't intend to do any modifications to the gun. It runs well with all ammo I tested to date and is accurate out to 35 meters and likely beyond. I just have limited my testing to 35 meters. The carbine now wears a Sig Romeo 5X red dot. Bought mine at Bullseye a week before they went on sale for $599.99.
