The Gun Case Thread

Is there a Canadian dealer of new vintage style take down cases? Like the venatti posted above or is a negrini the closest one can find in canada?
You can buy the Tourbon brand cases on Amazon. They are a little over $400 CDN.

I bought one of their soft leg of mutton style cases from Amazon and returned it. The barrel sleeve was open on both ends so that the barrel muzzles and lugs were scratching the receiver or stock
Those you posted look good

Everything I have seen from Tourbon including cases and leather slip on pads has been a quality level I don't find acceptable. And for reference I have been more than happy with cases from Jeff's/Venatti.

The quality was definitely there. It was the design. The barrel section instead of being a sleeve was essentially a 20" flap sewn over. Kinda like the single big pocket on a pull over sweater thats open on both ends. Fine for a baikal but for my nicer guns I wanted protection not metal on metal or metal on wood. The material and workmanship was great

Interesting because that is completely different than what I have seen. Now the last I looked at something from Tourbon was probably pre Covid so maybe they have upgraded.

This thread needs more modern cases!

Or maybe American guitar cases?

(which are sadly illegal for us Canadians)

It's all about intent.
- You use it to "smuggle" a firearm into a place where it is illegal to do so: illegal, as you are using the guitare case to "hide" the firearm and deceive others
- You use it to take your firearm to the range, because that's the case you've got... You're good to go.

Back to the case, I kind of like this style

Slap a gun brand sticker on it then its legal if the branding is visible and recognizable. In the eyes of the law it is not longer considered a case for a guitar. I have a violin case I made for a canuck regulator. Printed out a vinyl canuck brand logo and put on the bottom side
