The Infidel - update w first group

I'm not known for being easy on my stuff. That being said, I don't pound nails with my guns or drive over them either but if I can run my loads at the upper end of pressure, I will and I don't sugar coat range results so if something is going to fail because of build quality, there's a good chance I'll be the one behind the trigger. The upside to that for all of you is it's my $7000 or whatever the tab comes to and not yours. Ask me sometime how impressed I am with my vehicles. LOL

Canada vs USA

I like the United States and I enjoy Americans. Friends and I take in the Reno air races every year and a few NFL games. I'm going to Talladega in two weeks for the 500. I always have a great time and meet some really great people. Buying form Rick would have little to do with National pride for me.

If you meet Rick you are going to talk to a guy who is truly passionate about what he does. I have taken a gunsmithing course and have been involved with firearms since I was 14. He clearly has knowledge that far exceeds my own and yet he is never arrogant or condescending in a conversation about his products. This is an intelligent articulate person who makes it fun to purchase or build the things we like to spend our disposable income on. He is more than willing to help you be successful and tells it pretty much the way it is regardless of the effect it has on his sale.

Buying in Canada makes sense for a lot of the reasons listed in this post. Shipping, service being perhaps two of the best ones. Buying at ATR makes sense for all the other reasons.

choices

thats one of the nice things about where we live you have the freedom to make your own choice on what you purchase. I own the first .338 edge ai that ATRS built, the gun shoots awesome. I could have saved money and time by going straight 338 edge, but it was my choice to go a.i.
When most precision guns carry a synthetic stock I went laminate again my choice. I am sure if Rick,s price was the same we would not have 12 pages of how expensive his product is, we would have 12 pages of some other B.S. that someone chose to find wrong with a product they never seen or tested.
I for one will spend more money on a canadian made product when available.I also try to support the small guy when I can. When someone says why would spend more on the canadian made action I say why wouldnt you. Good job ATRS I am glad that we have another choice.

or you think 12 pages of more happy customers???

A small Canadian maker can't compete with production run actions from the US, period. People 40 years ago made an effort to buy Canadian goods, that mindset is vanishing in the me-first and instant-gratification world, where if I want it I should have it, no matter what or where it's from.

I'm old fashioned perhaps, but I'm all for protectionism. People talk about it restricting the growth of our economy, but frankly, that's not a bad thing if you ask me. I don't believe in the non-stop expansion, consumerist system. My long way of saying go Canada, go ATRS!

Rumor has that Calgary area is a very poor place to test new rifles.
I think the Fraser Valley with its sunshine and monsoon rains, calm weather and hurricanes would provide your potential customers with a realistic picture.
For that reason I'm willing to volunteer my spare time and trigger finger to the task.....after all, what are friends for ?? :D

Fraser Valley...with it's hippies, rain and dope. You need a good pristine environment like, say, the Mackenzie Delta.

Pardon the hi-jack....gotta clarify a couple things.
We have no hippies....they went out along with cheap gasoline and fender skirts. Rain we have lots of, same with dope and trigger happy dealers, thanks to our lenient justice system.(rant over)
Mackenzie Delta you say ??? When would you shoot ? In winter its colder than a witche's t*t, and in summer the bugs will eat you alive !! :p

I dunno Kevan, I've driven the back road between Mission and Agassiz and, if them ain't hippies (tucked between the reserves - particularly around the turn at Deroche) , they're durn close! :D

Takes a damned accurate rifle to shoot our skeeters, hence why the Infidel must come to visit!

Yes....isn't that the truth !! But again that is another district where a lot of "commodities" are grown.....

then besides the people of asian descent and bikers , who is growing all the pot down there ?

Dont be shootin at the pit bulls of Deroach.

Pick me, pick me. Never rains, hardly snows, lots of frozen 1500 yard shooting ranges everywhere. Year round shooters paradise. Off the back porch!
