So here some real phuckery, The real bolt wont work.... lol.. Why is this so complicated but cool at the same time.... I emailed TNW to see what mods I need to do for it... lol...

but on the bright side real rollers look way nicer than those TNW ones.... and they roll... hahahahh the firing pin spring is an actual spring and the bolt isnt pitted to hell either.

The ring in the top photo is the sear ring. It goes into the bolt head after the firing pin and spring/spring retainer are installed. The sear ring is then retained by a sear clip that engages a ring in the firing pin.

See this video from TNW where the guy says to ensure the clip is seated properly - this is right after he installs the sear ring:

The sear ring was added by TNW to provide a bearing surface for the new sear assembly.

The ejector of any new bolt may need adjustment for clearance - see instructions from Brian Poling at BRP guns at the bottom of this page (delete space after h in hyperlink as this is technically a US dealer site):

In your other photos - if that’s your original bolt on the right, the rollers are chewed up - check the bolt stop in the receiver to make sure it engages past the roller when the bolt is in battery.

I just picked up an MG34 that had a missing bolt roller, so I just had the fun of installing them - 30 mins of frustration, but there is a procedure that works that I can share.

Ask me how I learned all of this stuff in the past 2 weeks! The joy of a new MG34 owner!

TNW uses new rollers from what i could find online. Lots of people say get real German ones if you dont want issues.

Yeah I noticed teh sear ring once I put the old bolt back together, It wont fit on the real one...lol...

I hope I can find how to modify my new bolt :)

Yup my bolt stop was destroyed, Ordered a new one on GB :)

I suspect that the part in the red oval is the Firing Pin Lever, which releases the firing pin as the bolt rotates to lock, in the original design. The TNW bolt would seem to have this area welded over; no doubt part of the remanufacture process. Know a good TIG welder?

####: You are right on that..
The rear collar of the bolt pushed up on the lever to release the striker.
The rollers are finished and I wounder what the rails inside look like.
I'd say they were too soft as for that much damage to occur they should have cracked.

Hello

Interesting read of ALL the posts.

Please excuse me for asking, I am curious, what PAL version do you need to own a semi auto MG34 ?

Thanks for posting here.

Thanks for your time.

You can take the firing pin release lever out with out welding the spot it was in
TNW welds the opening to prevent someone from putting the firing pin release in and they grind off the angle on the back bolt piece that activates the trip lever. The pin for the lever could be a pain to get out so be prepared
Glad to see you got a proper firing pin spring!
You should have that sucker running again in no time

Nice, I rathr not screw with the bolt if I dont have 2. Bad enough I got to mill it down tommorow :-( ( well ill watch it get done by a friend )

Is this sear same as an AR auto sear, you can have it but obviously can use it ? if not ill destroy it so i dont get in chit.

Yes the proper firing pin spring was a must. the other one included was way to powerful...

I wouldn't worry about destroying it. 99% of people wouldn't even know what it is. I have a couple of em laying around in parts bins so I wouldn't sweat it

Do you have roller sets laying around:) or know where to get them with clips ? Need to get this other bolt back up and ready to go.

I ended up buying a demilled bolt from a lady in Europe for the rollers, firing pin, spring, and back half of the bolt. When I got it one of the roller clips was missing and the front half of the bolt was garbage due to the weld/ cut that was done for the demilling
I'm not sure where else to get rollers from? I found a few in the US but they won't ship here. I wish marstar had complete bolts for sale I would get a few for parts
