This was a ten day hunt with a guy ten years older than me. All one shot kills, Jim lived at close to 10,000 feet elevation in Colorado, and was a goat in the hills!

It was a great hunt. This was 1973 and he arrived in a 185 at the mouth of Raft Creek. We travelled two hours on horseback to base camp, where my wife had a delicious dinner waiting. Stayed there that night, and headed out the next morning.
Next seven days were travelling to a couple of spike camps by horse, and the hunting on foot. Then, back to base camp for a days rest, and Raft Creek the next for pickup in 185 to Whitehorse. Taking care of the capes and meat was at least half that time.
I was invited to his home, and visited him the next Spring. Great guy!
We stayed in touch for several years, and I sent him a few cases of Red River Cereal which he had never seen until he hunted with us.

Don’t worry I’ve never hunted a spot of yours, and we’ve never hunted within a hundred miles of each other, never will no matter how hard we try.
For the record folks, he’s been perturbed by my personal opinion in another thread unrelated to mountain hunting. I wish you the best and encourage you to share your mountain hunting as well, as that is why we’re here. If your desire is to spread frustration, it’s the wrong spot there’s plenty of better places on here, and cheers.

Absolutely! He more than did his share. I was in perhaps the best shape of my life,....
... and he had no trouble at all keeping up with me. It was mutual, and perhaps why we became long time friends.

PS: That's the old 270 Husqvarna with the Leupold 3X that I have posted about a few times on here.

Still the best round I’ve seen on game in North America, all considered. Can’t call it my favourite, but if I have to answer objectively it’s been likely the most effective I’ve witnessed in action.

Interesting conclusion, you must have studied the whole P section of Websters to find that word. Talking about mountain hunting here, right?
Been hunting areas in the mountains and they were good, like going home with a sheep and caribou every second year. Then the outfitters take over and draws for residents have been implemented due to the hunting orgs lobbying. It went to chits ever since. The stewarts of the land eh, lol.
This is my opinion and experience. So if you are frustrated about anyone's opinion I can't really help you. Maybe study another section of Websters and you'll find another fancy word to keep frustration levels low.
