The NEW KING is taking off!

The military takes over our range as of Jan 10, so you might have to wait until March if you want to shoot it, but fingering it in the parking lot is fine.:p

I was at the range yesterday shooting my 21" Rem 700 LSS in 375RUM with 260gr Accubonds & 300gr Gamekings/Partitions with the scope on and off the recoil of this cannon is truely eye opening... :D

I can see why some guys will settle for the lesser 375 Ruger because most of you don't shoot enough to handle the recoil of a 375RUM... :p

You think the recoil is "truely eye opening?" You must have a glass shoulder...:p

Hey Gate next time I'm in your area I'll let you give it a try and we'll see... :D

Kevan I agree these kinds of threads are major good humour...

I can't imagine it kicks any harder than some of the .378's and .416's and .458's I've played around with.... All of which had noticeable recoil, but were hardly "Truly eye popping";)

But if you find the 375 RUM with a 21" barrel "eye popping" in recoil, you may want to avoid the bigger stuff.

I've never shot the crazy big guns like .585 Nyati, or Mbogo or Tyrannosaur yet, though...And I may find THOSE eye popping!!

I was given the pleasure of shooting a Custom 458 WinMag a local smith put together for himself.
It was built on a Nice old Whitworth, very slim and really light.

My nose bled for two days:redface:...........Factory 510 solids.

375's are for African Hunter's wives to carry around so they don't feel "left out" when on Safari ;)

No not 10 000 views, 300 posts just like the movie ;) We all know how that ended  They all died & fell out of existence just like the 375 ruger will when this thread finally dies:p

All the 30-378 to 416 Weatherby's I shoot are heavy and have muzzle brakes so they are pussies to shoot...

Since you find the .375 RUM to have "Eye popping" recoil, I'd stick to the muzzle braked big guns if I were you.... Sounds like you may have problems with the recoil sans brake.

The .375 RUger is just getting started and it is already very popular...and that is the beauty of this thread:p

Always a sign of desperation when someone has to resort to petty personal attacks to side step the facts... :p

Personal attack? Sorry you took it that way. Just suggesting that you stay within the recoil limits you are comfortable with. I feel that is good advice for any shooter/hunter.
