I understand the definition of "fallacy"

Let me rephrase:

Which part of this statement does Chuck think is a fallacy?

All the stores had plenty of 30-06 brass, too. I guess nobody is using that anymore either

Plenty of 30-06 brass? Yes, I saw it. Not a fallacy.

Nobody is using the 30-06? I was being facetious. Not a fallacy.

Just in case:

fa·ce·tious   [fuh-see-shuhs] Show IPA
–adjective
1.
not meant to be taken seriously or literally: a facetious remark.
2.
amusing; humorous.
3.
lacking serious intent; concerned with something nonessential, amusing, or frivolous: a facetious person.

I don't even know why the 350gr TSX's exist. They aren't going to open any more than a 270 or 300 gr TSX, and they likely won't penetrate any further , either.

I could be wrong, but if you get a chance to do a 300gr vs 350gr TSX penetration test, it would indeed be interesting.

You have news of SuperFudds adventures?
We had a great trip. Good weather, great freinds, safe passage, good fishing, and a couple nice caribou.

The 375 CT took a B&C mountain caribou. Scored 408 5/8" (green), 390" min. to make the book. Pics and story to follow when I get home. :D

Well hopefully I'll be doing an elephant control hunt in the next few years, and this is THE bullet for that job from the .375. It's the same idea as the 380gr Rhino bullet (being copper, will likely penetrate similarly despite a slight weight disadvantage). I am absolutely certain they will penetrate further than my 300gr TSXs, as my 300's are still moving over 2,700fps (though I slowed them down to about 2,500fps IIRC for Cape Buffalo hunting). That's still rapid opening-up velocities, and with the 350's I imagine I'll get the velocity down a bit, while adding weight, I imagine I'll be launching them just a bit over 2,500fps. In fact I bet that picked up some energy too, giving up 200fps but gaining 50 grains of bullet weight.

The sectional density is .356 as well, which is other-worldly, trumping even the SD of the 750gr .577 projectiles. Penetration will be absurd, I'm sure, as will be bone smashing power and resistance to deflection. The 350gr TSX is built exclusively for Africa and dangerous game, not much use in North America, but purpose built for its cause overseas. Look forward to trying them, takes the .375 H&H up to and past a good deal of big bores. One cartridge for all, one King; .375 H&H.

SC, that is an EXCELLENT caribou, a true "trophy of a lifetime" Well done!:)

Ardent, I suppose with elephant, you can't go wrong with a heaver projectile, but I still think you should try some newspaper penetration tests between the 2...I'm interested in seeing if there is any difference in penetration or expansion. Some dry newspaper will show you the bone smashing capabilities of the 2. :D
