Camp Cook,
I am thinking a .375WSM might work if you can put up with a wildcat..
Here are some .350WSM vel. figures:

Another case to wildcat is the Remington .350Mag but you may have to use a long action for the 260gr Accubond.. If it will feed in a LA then any "BIG 7/7 maggie" Remington action would be your huckleberry...

Or buy 200pc. 376 Steyr brass anneal the necks after every five firings and you would be set for life..

I have been looking around for a 375 cartridge that will push a 260gr Accubond to 2600fps - 2650fps but haven't been able to come up with exactly what I am looking for.

So have any of you down loaded the Ruger or the H&H and what was your experiences?

Cam the load I am using for the 260 gr. AB in my M77 African is 82 gr of H4350. I haven't chrony'd it but I am guess it would be around 2700 fps. I dumped a nice 6pt elk with it this year. 350 yd. shot, two short steps, wobble and down. He wasn't going anywhere, but I could see he was struggling to regain his feet. Second shot went into the neck, and that was the end.

Field dressing, found that the first shot had gone in and out, between ribs both times. Zero bloodshot meat, and the chest cavity was jello. The second shot entered the neck just forward of the brisket and came to rest against the hide on the opposite side just short of the jaw. Again, very very little bloodshot meat. I was very impressed with the combination.

Results of the neck shot. 208 gr. 80% retained, max diameter .620"

I have a thing for the 375 cal so totally not interested in 338/358/9.3 basically I have everything to load a 375 just need dies and brass and a rifle to do what I want and no I don't need it just want it...

:D

That is good humour GH and I'm not surprised from all the forums I see you post it on... :D

Those are extremely nice bulls congrates to your successful hunts...

Now amazingly enough I have a question on the 375 Ruger & H&H...

I have been looking around for a 375 cartridge that will push a 260gr Accubond to 2600fps - 2650fps but haven't been able to come up with exactly what I am looking for.

I'm already shooting/hunting with my 21" barreled T/C Contender carbine in 375JDJ = 260gr Accubonds @ 2300fps and my 21" barreled Rem 700 LSS in 375RUM 260gr Accubonds @ 3020fps I'm basically looking to split the difference in velocity I plan to use it in place of my 30-06 and was actually thinking of rebarreling my 30-06 to a 375 cartridge.

I have asked about this on different forums and most guys are saying why don't I just buy a rifle in 375H&H or Ruger and download the loads to the velocites I am looking for.

That way I am not wasting time with all the work needed and still end up with a rifle that is chambered to a wildcat cartridge or a cartridge that is hard to find brass for like the 376 Steyr.

So have any of you down loaded the Ruger or the H&H and what was your experiences?

I shot the moose pictured with a 260 Accubond load going 2600 fps.72 grs of Varget and cci 250 mag primers. The shot was 240 yards. The moose died.

Two yrs ago, I shot a very small bull broadside [ribs] twice with the same bullet and couldn't get it to exit.

I had better luck with a 270gr TSX this fall. It exited a 600lb Yukon caribou w/o problems.

You can load a .375 RUger to 2600fps with a 260 gr NAB no problem. Likely get fine accuracy too. Or use a max load of H4350 with the 300gr NAB and you will get around 2600fps, too. You can push the 300 faster than that with RL 17 if you want, too.
