From what we can see on Armalytics, the Chico might be the NDS lower mated to a PWS upper (like the Brownells 180 upper). Jakl would be the modified NDS lower built specifically for and mated to the PSA Jakl upper.

Regardless if the FRT is for a Jakl or BRN-180 style upper to mate with the NoDak lower, IRunGuns may want to pair the stock with something other then F5 ACR-style stock used by default on the Jakl and Crusader Templar. As noted by Templar users, and both Sinistral Rifleman at InRangeTV and the guys at 9 Hole Reviews in the videos below, the F5 stock is almost too flexible. Although this may prevent it from easily being destroyed, it also makes it more difficult to shoulder the rifle. Perhaps a folding buffer tube, Midwest Industries Alpha AK 1913, or a 1913 adapter to a Zhukov stock may be better options. If anyone loves the F5 stock, please feel free to post a counter-point.

If IRunGuns does have the barrels made by DLask, it might be nice to have the option of either a pencil barrel, to offset the front-heaviness of the piston for those who like running and gunning, or a heavier profile barrel for bench/accuracy oriented shooters.

Please no zhukov stocks they’re SO damn ugly lmfao
How about a JMAC as one alternative? Iraqveteran888 liked his SBR using this stock, and although there is no LOP adjustment, it does come with a QD mount and appears to give a solid shoulder weld:

The military arms channel enjoyed using a different JMAC stock with the Jakl, though they wished for a pencil barrel on their longer version:

A commenter on a YouTube thread mentioned they had swapped their F5 stock for a B&T MBT stock, if that style is more preferred.

Ultimately, it would be cool if DLask in their amazing innovation could make a Canadian 1913 variable length of pull and height folding stock of our own. They could use it with an adapter they are developing for another rifle as well.

My issue is more so how fragile they are in the cold...
Thanks for the info! The reason the F5 stock may be more pliable is to prevent fracturing in the cold. I could see the pliabity increasing in the hot Arizona and Texas sun somewhat problematic levels. Like with everything, tradeoffs are a part of life.

Fixed length Ulta light skeletonized stocks are friggen awesome. the adapter goes right up to the very top on the JAKL which is perfect for them. the skeleton folder on the Troy PAR is done right too. Super sturdy and locks in while folded.

Personally I’m much more excited for the Chico than the Jakl. The Jakl has a spotty track record and won’t be worth the price once they’re here. Hopefully the Chico will be a bit cheaper.

I hope we get more news and info about what IRG, NoDak Spud, and possibly PSA have in store for us. Part of me wants to build out a SBI Lynx 180B lower for the fun of it and see if the NoDak upper will fit on it (the Lynx fits Armalite 180 uppers, hypothetically it should fit it)

Lynx upper fits a nodak lower so it stands to reason the reverse also fits.
