The new Tikka T1X Rimfire

The above picture shows the magazine protruding from the stock...

Does anyone besides Ruger have a flush 10 round magazine? I expect Ruger has a patent on the rotary design or else there'd be more out there.

Browning T-Bolt, has a double helix flush 10 round magazine.

Now if they accepted the Quad barrels , then you would have something I can see some things changing with Tikka/Sako

Maybe Tikka could unlock the mystery behind that caliber's inability to shoot sub MOA. Maybe Tikka has to make the ammo too. :) Seriously though...if that Tikka in 22WMR and even one ammo type run through it could pull-off 3/4" @ 100 yards consistently, I'd have to adjust my 2018 gun purchasing plans a little to include one of these. If they made one, and it was a typical 1-1/2" @ 100 yards 22WMR...it wouldn't be any temptation for me personally.

2018 is going to be an interesting year with at least a couple of new 22s coming out. So far, the Ruger Precision has me a little more interested than the Tikka...but we'll see. The CZ457s are intriguing too...I wonder if they'll be @ SHOT.

Id say on an interest level for me, the new CZ's take it, then the Tikka then the RPR monstrosity lol. I get it, its a trainer but im so meh about it. I think tis ugly! lol If you want adjust ability check out the ANNI TT and get a rifle that actually shoots well! lol

Very cool. Looks like a competitive gun for price.

Maybe, it likely shoots like most rugers. Similar to a (stock) 10/22. Hardly something you want for "precision training".
If it has the ruger precision trigger then HARD pass (I think I just watched a video saying it does.) My personal experience with that trigger system was gritty and lots of creep with a squishy feeling.

The only thing it really brings to the table that is new is the chassis for a competitive price.

^was that advice for me CK? :)

I hear you though. I've shot a RPR in 6.5 Creedmoor, and I think what struck me is how nice it was to shoot prone, with an AR grip, with a stock you can tune that easily, etc. The idea of that, in 22, being decently accurate~holds some appeal. My relationship with beautiful, wood stocks is a complicated one...I'm drawn to them, then utterly distracted about keeping them in perfect condition. To think there could be an accurate, "black" 22 bolt gun that wouldn't be a distraction like that..= :) The almost $600 price tag is dangerously close to CZ money though...so accuracy would need to be pretty impressive for one to end-up in my small collection.

I guess the new Tikka IS a "black" 22 bolt gun too. :)

In the immortal words of enthusiasts all over the world.."Bring it on, baby!"
I'll be interested to see one. I doubt my 452 Varmint in 22LR will ever go down the road, but it needs another accurate stable mate.

I'll add to the pure speculation by saying that I'd be surprised if this gun was $100+ more than a CZ. I think perceived value plays a small part in pricing decisions, and if Tikka can make their light centerfires as affordably as they do...I'd guess the price of these will come in around $600. I look forward to seeing them, and don't care that the mag protrudes a bit. Looks like a mini T3x! :)

My guess was $49 close! :) https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php/1671632-SHOT-Show-2018-–-Tikka-T1x-MTR
