You probably were
I mean, unless someone had a 338 fed
I wouldn't have to worry about that here. No one I know here fell for the 338 Fed hype.
Saying that, my hunting pard totes an old 77 tanger in 358W so he wins in the cool category.

One day 358 win owners will come to understand how much SUPERIOR a 338 Federal is !RJ
Oh and the 338-06 ASquare over the 35 Whelen .RJ
I had a friend years ago that was a top tier silhouette shooter. His unlinted rifke was chambered in 6/222rem mag
It would reliably knock down the 500 meter rams , and he used it on a fewdeer as well.
I always found it a bit of a novelty , though. Simply because of the case capacity .

Dudes that get deep into one of the shooting games will tailor their cartridge so specifically for a single purpose that it's easy to get tunnel vision if you watch them. No different than the NRL/PRS craze going on convincing everyone that, because Jon Pynch and Austin Buschman shoot a 6 Dasher in a chassis to bang steel plates that their choices somehow translate into the hunting world, when in reality most hunters have no business taking a shot from over 200 yards away.
Bet they make better 200 meter shots with it than they would that traditional 30-06, 7mm magnum, or whatever they'd probably be carrying instead lol.
Except the chassis....will pass on that. Maybe it even gets em shooting a bit further out and interested in learning.
ever had a 375 ruger lol ...
Hmm there's another 338 chambering even better than all of those

I'm liking where 6mm ARC is at, which seems to be the desired performance levels....but would the 6/222 mag fit in AR pattern mags, use a 223 bolt face, and could the brass be made from 223 Rem?
I don't think I've ever even seen one.
Got you! Thanks.
Kind of the same with some of the longer 223 projectiles already anyway so no big.
Hornady should concentrate on keeping stock of existing cartriges and components rather then come out with something else that they won't support after a few years

Hoyt brought a couple of the neatest chamberings we had out on the coast, the .350 RM and the .358W. .350 raises my eyebrow, but I’m committed to .375 components wise.
They should end the .308 Win vs .30-06 Sprg debate once and for all...

This thread is why hunters could never make up the hunting regulations.
This thread is full of degenerate gun guys, amateur tinkerers/machinists, and at.least one insomniac. Many semi loads of game harvested, by the same guys above, mostly with a ugly gun in a boring caliber.
Noone posting here, could be more clueless than whomever writes the BC regs.
