the official "next M305 shipment arrival" thread

I think in all honesty you are not going to see any new M14's until late summer/early fall at the earliest.

That wouldnt surprise me in the slightest. It would however, give my piggy bank a chance to grow back :)

I saw those $1k plus ones in the forum. I want a "virgin" so I can do with it what I please ;) I was given a tip about one for about $600, but I missed that one.

Well, i'd rather have one show up late then never! At least now I can start stocking up on ammo so when they do come in I could make up for all the shooting I could have been doing.

There are a few in the exchange forum right now, at inflated prices mind you.

"Inflated prices"

I'm going to assume that comment is directed at those of us that are listing rifles in the $600 range.

It irritates me because it implies that people - like me - are attempting to take advantage of a situation to get more for our goods than they are worth. Now, I am not going to suggest that the poster I quoted is new to the gun trading game, but it does show a lack of appreciation for the market development of the M305 in Canada. Not everyone who owns an M305 had the advantage of being able to buy it for $399 at Marstar. What seems to be a reasonable price to a potential purchaser in light of that may not be a reasonable price for the seller.

Let me show you something:

That's a total of $897.03 for the rifle and accessories. Mint rifle with only 120 rds through it. So an asking price of $699 does not seem all that "inflated" from my perspective, particularly when you add up the tax and s&h for a rifle and scope mount from Marstar - about $550-$600 anyway.

M305 pricing

I agree with SPI on the point that pricing is something highly variable and subjective too.

If it is too expensive, it either get bought by someone who can afford it or can't wait to get it or has to have this one.

Otherwise the item gets BTT treatment and prices meets demand finally.

Nothing new here in capitalist and free enterprise type of business.

Who's complaining on the M1 Garand prices ??

I've got three and none were below $600.

Idem for M305 with mods at over $800 and M1A Loaded at 2 Thou.

You pay or you pass. Simple.

Life goes on. :)

"Methinks the lady doth protest too much."

If you are secure and confident in you pricing, why dignify these comments with your protests?

No.

I'm not certain that you understand the quote. If I recall correctly, that quote is from "Hamlet" by William Shakespear.

What it means is that what the lady is protesting is actually true.

I said that I reply because it irritates me that I feel that my honesty is impugned by the comment of "inflated" prices and I feel that my reasoning is justified.

Quite the opposite of the quote.

the market price seems to be less than what you are charging - just cuz you paid too much, doesnt mean that someone else will

Can't wait to acquire one for mods...

are they all pre-sold? will there actually be any available when the shipment arrives? (for those of us who haven't called to have our name's added to the list)

Yeah...

I guess that is why two of them have sold in that price range in the last week, huh?
