Bought one of these in Muddy Girl camo chambered in 243 Win for one of my wife's Christmas presents

"Shrink It and Pink It" is a condescending approach that turns more women away from hunting than it attracts. You catch more flies with honey than vinegar, and you'll catch more women hunters if you actually give a #### about making the sport more accessible to them. Pink camo ain't that.

Says a man... :)

My wife's customized Ruger 77 ( tang safety) in 7x57 - she commissioned the rifle.
Full fiddleback walnut blank, stock design fitted to her, tight curve pistol grip, small wrist, one inch Pachmayr Old English pad, ebony forend tip and grip cap. Barrel shortened to 21 inches and lightened to keep everything in proportion, Jerry Fisher styled checkering with fleur-de-lis and ribbons.
It is hard to imagine a more attractive Woman's rifle.

Wife prefers the light recoil of a semi auto, currently happy with the ACR in a few different calibers but plan to build something lighter with a maccabee or atrs upper and lower combo

i do not know what else to answer ... like men not are made the same for ladies ...

why limiting yourself / herself to 243 or 7-08?

my wife is using: 9.3x62, 9.3x57 270 and 30-06 12ga and 22lr and some others that i am maybe not aware and she is the one bringing the meat in the freezer ...

Many rifles can become perfect for any shooter, provided it fits them, and is capable of filling the role for which it was purchased. A .243 or a 7-08 might well fill the bill, but then so might a .375 H&H, depending on the context of the conversation, but I see now that Phi has already made the point.

I'm on the hunt for a woman's rifle. I'm looking for honest opinions and experiences of them. So far I'm leaning heavily toward the savage 11 lady hunter and weatherby Camilla vanguard, but there's a lot of other compact/youth models out there that might fit the job. What do you guys think?

Are we talking a perfect woman's rifle or a woman's perfect rifle?

There are lots of perfect rifles for women, not that many perfect woman.

Size and experience required to recommend a cartridge...

I'd hunt that rifle. :)

The sako A7 in 7-08 has been a great wife gun for us. Lightweight and just feels good in the hand. Also has a clip not a hinge plate. She took a moose at 460 yards this fall with her Huskemaw on it. Gun Shoots sub MOA. In my opinion its a great gun for youth or women and shoots like a hot damn, and I love shooting that gun as well. my 2 cents

I know of a wonderful couple, a husband & wife team, both of whom are well past retirement age and both are successful hunters.
He is very active in the Fish & Game club, shoots competitively, and he is VERY proud that his wife can outshoot him at the range any day of the week.
They live on Vancouver Island and hunt in northern B.C. for moose and mule deer every year - their walls lined with trophies, at least half hers.
The rifle this sweet grandmother uses? ... it is exactly the same as her husband's ... Tikka T3 in .270wsm

Well I’ll speak for myself as a woman. My favourite rifle I’ve shot and owned is a Ruger GSR. Mine’s a .308, but the option of 5.56 is a great one too. It’s adjustable for length of pull, both cartridges have manageable recoil (especially with an added compensator), the weight is great, and the trigger pull is perfect for me.

I also think any 30-30 lever gun would be a great option. I also think other good cartridge options would include .243 or .270

Just my two cents.

I gave my wife the Winchester XPR Muddy Girl camo compact rifle in 243 Win yesterday morning for Christmas.

She really likes it but she is 5' 10" tall she finds the stock a bit short plus she is not a hunter she will just use it for plinking and camp defense told me she prefers the Ruger American in 450 Bushmaster that I have coming from P&D Ent in Edm.

She held a Ruger American 450 Bushmaster 2 weeks ago at Cabela's she prefers the longer stock and shorter 16" barrel.

So if anyone is interested in this beauty unfired NIB combo keep your eyes on the EE this next week it will come with a spare mag and scope bases, taxes in I payed $900.00.
