The reason you bought your last handgun?

I'd never been a big Desert Eagle fan, and kind of wrote them off as being useless...

But unexpectedly, one day at TSE, I got a Desert Eagle Mk. I 357 mag for ~$1200. It was in pretty good shape, the frame was the discontinued stainless version, I'd just saved about that much for an AR anyway, and they were throwing in 5 mags! I couldn't argue with a deal like that! I also kinda figured I could sell it to Millsy since he was planning to get a DE...

I think most of those ended up being excuses though, since I'd spent so much time arguing Glock vs. DE with him on ICQ. :p By this time, I already had my "reliable, all-purpose handgun" (G17) so I wanted a DE to do some more extensive testing!

In the end, it was super-picky about ammo, only Winchester seemed to cycle reliably and not spray copper shreds out the gas system, though homemade reloads work perfectly in it. Also a real pain to clean, it takes about 15min to a half hour to scrape the gunk out... I have to admit though, that thing is a real tackdriver, and the *WHUMP* it makes when you shoot it is hard to beat!

I bought a couple of boxes of 9mm for a Gunnutz shoot last year.

I had to leave before I finished it all.

Obviously, you just can't leave that laying around so I did the sensible thing and bought a Sig 226.

well theres always the (end of the world scenario)or just look at neworleans, but most canadains arnt like that
but seriously just for fun and passon for the shooting sport

I saw a Super Redhawk c/w scope on the rack in a gun store and just had to have it cause I like "more power". I wish I could hunt deer with it cause I hardly ever bring it to the range. My 45 colts and ACP are more fun to shoot and easier on the wrist.

Why my last handgun? Because I won it and they gave it to me, that's why. And, come to think of it, the one before that.

All of which makes me realize I am behind everybody else; I didn't actually CHOOSE those handguns based on some reason or other. Obviously, I am missing out here somewhere.

Hmmmm... let's see... I have some .357 SIG rounds somebody gave me and nothing to shoot them out of. Can't have that! Obviously, I NEED a Browning Hi-Power with a drop in .357 SIG barrel and a few other goodies.

Thank God this topic came up and made me realize I have not been carrying my weight around here in the way of acquiring new handguns!

The most recent HG aquisition of mine was a S&W Airweight..
'Didn't really "need" another .38. Especially another snubby, but better in my grubby hands than "disposed of"
A friend who isn't 12(6) had inherited it and wasn't able to keep it....
So I took one for the team and adopted it. :)

Thats cool!!
Whats a good Zombie gun then? .50 BMG?

I bought my XD simply because it felt more comfortable to me than the G17, and the CZ85. My wife likes the fact that the more I spend on my riffles and pistols, the less I spend on BEER. In theory that should be hard on my keg belly  . Little does she relize, how ever, that I like to evenly disperse the my funds between the two!

Oh yeh, and the zombies are a growing concern of mine as well!

I also recently purchased a Karl Gustave 84mm anti-tank gun for the cat problem in my neighbourhood. I figure it may widen my property line as well!!

Traded ..made some cash...was burning a hole in my virtual pocket...am addicted to 'ee'...havn't had or shot one before....my list of justifications to the misses is endless......
