The Stag 10s NR stripped receiver set thread

Frankly, having been here for 14 years (Had a change of user name that reset my stats - damn I'm getting old) if I was going to buy a Stag product, I'd buy it from AE. I have seen exactly one complaint about them in 14 years, and that was a complaint about a magazine from a guy who hadn't contacted them before posting. Yes they're 2,700 nautical miles away as the crow flies, but they obviously do a very good job - considering the number of whiny people here. So, they'd get my business.

There's more than one unhappy former AE customer out there. Just not everyone feels the need to make a scene about it.

I know I'm not a big wheel but I'm now at $4k that could have been spent at AE but was spent elsewhere. And I had spent money there before. They could have done the right thing by me and made their money back easily.

I found that Walt was great to deal with until something went wrong. This whole exclusive distributor nonsense doesn't surprise me.

If it’s true that AE has done all the leg work to secure the NR status for these Stag’s, I’ll be ordering from them for sure.

Blows me away that people would consider ordering someplace else to save a few bucks. These are miles ahead of what’s out there now. What kind of incentive does that give to other dealers trying to bring badass firearms in like this? Shame.

Hey,

everybody is entitled to spend their money where they want to; there's no right or wrong in this.

Everyone should get off their high horses; we're all fking equal with equal purchasing privileges.

I’m confused as to what is going on here. I see there’s something negative going on. Stage not answering calls. Did somebody promise something they could not make happen??

AE told everybody they were the exclusive dealer for these and if anybody ordered from anybody else their order would be cancelled that's the jist I got from the couple times I popped in this thread.

There probly figuring out how much of an extra DMR / NR tax to add to the price. Arms east has said that it’s supposed to be quite a bit cheaper than the 6.5.... I guess we will find out soon.

Well I've decided that my build is definitely going to be a mid to long range coyote rifle.

Barrel: Christensen Arms Carbon Fiber .243 winchester 20" 1:8 twist.

Final weight isn't going to be a huge factor because I won't have to lug it very far where I plan to use it. Only issue is I'm having a hard time figuring out what style to go with for the build.

Here's 3 random pics from the interweb. Something similar to either style would suit me fine. Just not sure what one yet.

A. A2 stock & Midwest Industries handguard

B. Magpul PRS stock & SLR Rifleworks handguard

C. Magpul UBR stock & Fortis handguard

I'm kinda favoring the last one. It's a nice modern look. Only problem is key-mod... YUCK

Too many desisions...

Last one for sure.

I ordered a Faxon in 6.5 , then I came across a smokin deal for a .308 CA CFW, so now one has to go:(
Probably the Faxon.

I like the a2 stock personally (a1 even better) I've never been a fan of the ubr on longer rifles I find them awesome on sorties though. The prs is functional but I think it looks like #### and looking cool counts.

I agree 100% with your opinion on the stocks.

I find the A1/A2 stocks to actually be the most comfortable mainly due to the ability to position your cheek anywhere along the top of the stock.

Yes the PRS is extremely functional but it looks like a brick and adds the weight of a brick.

The UBR looks great but the biggest limitation I find is that you have to keep your cheek positioned forward, even when extended, and this can be problematic with a scope that has a long eye relief.

Or I could forget about the UBR and just go with a CTR stock. At least I'll be able to keep the weight down a bit.

We are all patiently waiting to see if they are going to be fair or are they going to try to rape Canadian gun-nut. :)
