The T97 Thread!

Those T97.ca LHG sure look nice, anyone install one on a Gen 3?

Mine is a gen3 ... Def worth it...the LHG installed easily, and functions very well...great trigger improvement, it feels good too.

sturdy..the supplied mag release upgrade button protruded further than I liked so I removed five mm from the back before installing , it sure does make dropping the mag easy

I haven't changed mine yet and the kids destroyed the paper he sent with the link. How did ya remove the old one?

Lay the rifle down , right side up, either take a blade screwdriver with a small notch ground in the middle of the blade...or a very small pair of needlenose pliers and rotate the release button off the center bolt( counterclockwise) simply screw the new one on in its place use a bit of blue loctite to secure it

With a 50/200 yard zero I'm easily ringing ipsc sized targets between 100-350yards. Once I start getting to the father distances some kinda support is needed like a bag or bipod depending on the shooting position

nice thanks

seems no stock of that combo anywhere now.... like everything else

I don't really see em as a combo. Cabelas.ca has the Romeo for a good price it goes on sale regularly for $179. Find a flip to side mount that's the same hight as your optic mount. I grabbed one off Amazon for this rifle and used a spare eotec magnifier I had kicking around. For what it cost it's pretty good. There is a little play side to side if you push hard on it compared to models that cost 2&3 times the cost but since it's only for the magnifier that rarely gets used I can live with it. The setup is very fast to engage targets.

I was very happy to find a gen3 in Toronto last week, when I picked it up I also bought a bunch of original Norinco T97 mags. The look like a respectable steel mag and they were inexpensive, is there something wrong with them? It doesn't seem like too many guys are running them.

Try using them in anything but a T97. The giant rivets on both ends make them incompatible with a lot of magwells. They're also petty heavy and reliability is hit and miss.

Reliability is not an issue at all they are as reliable as any Tavor, they are incredibly durable. Now some AR mags are too wide some aren't, a file fixes poly mags easy.
