The T97 Thread!

Yup. I put a bayonet mount on the barrel. It definitely opened up my groups a bit. Not a lot, maybe went from 3.5 to 4.5 MOA, but still noticeable. With the bayonet actually mounted, groups go to 6+ MOA.

Yeah I tried putting a bayonet lug on the barrel as well. I went from 2.5" groups to 5" Didn't even bother with the bayonet, as I saw what it did to my AR's accuracy.

Always worked for me, a little gun oil or penetrant, whatever you got helps a bit too, especially if you put it on the night before, but I usually didn't need it. Couple times it took a few extra shots to get past the carbon ring when I was running the cheap stuff. I'd just grab it as far up on the spring as I could, pull er back and let er fly

does anyone know where can I find a see thru rail for gen 1 ? how does it work ? do I need to uninstall the rail and scope each time I clean this gun ? That s gonna loose zero right ?

Thanks

Most see-through rails will require you to remove the rail in order to take off the carry handle. All the rails I know of will, at the very least, still let you slide to carry handle/handguard back far enough that you can rotate the gas plug to the unlocked position so you can remove it for cleaning. It's a little more finnicky but it can be done.

The BC Tactical Scout mount rail is the only one that allows you to fully remove the handguard without removing the rail, though this requires (minimal) modification to the polymer handguard and you still have to remove the optic. Getting a QD mount for your optic would make this a simple to do and should give you a return to zero.

I just use a micro red dot. If you want a magnified optic it might not have enough rail space for a mount, but then I also think the height over bore is waaay too high to use a magnified scope anyway.

Hello all. First post here. I’m looking to get a T97 flat top and gear it up. After reading through a bit of this thread and some of my own research here’s what I’m thinking...

T97 NS Flat Top
T97.ca LHG
Norgon Mag Release
Vortex Razor Holographic Sight

I’m very open to changes and/or additions. Also, recommendations on where to buy would be fantastic (I’m in northern Alberta). Sorry if this has already been discussed a bunch. Thanks for any help.

You may consider getting a T97 Gen2, which has a factory flat top and comes with a Norgon-style ambi magazine release, so you don't have to buy one and then modify it extensively. The Gen2 also has a number of other, smaller upgrades like feed ramps.
