So a while ago, someone started a thread (that I cannot find now) about his T97 sometimes firing twice with a single pull of the trigger. Well lo and behold, my T97 was behaving in the same way on its first outing yesterday. Specifically, it would sometimes chamber and fire a second round with the bolt staying closed and not ejecting the empty second casing. In addition, it would sometimes make a soft strike on the primer (leaving a visible mark) but not firing. I assume that the firing pin must be still partially forward to be causing this (although I'm not sure why the second casing wouldn't be ejected). This problem seemed to be occurring regardless of which magazine I was using (original mag, LAR, or Beowulf) -- although the smaller capacity of the original mag meant it was only seen once. There may also have been some impact from trigger pull -- the problem seemed to occur more often when I pulled the trigger more softly, whereas a hard pull all the way to the back would be fine.
So any thoughts? Should I look to see if this can be repaired under warranty or is this just one of the joys of breaking in a new T97?
it just sounds like your firing pin is getting stuck. its free floating so you gotta make sure its lubed up
