What happens when something breaks ? Where do you get a firing pin or any springs ?
From a $650 donor gun.

Another 360 rounds through the black one. Brings the round count somewhere around 4000.
Hardly any wear even... has anyone actually broke a T97?
Here we go. Gives it a lot better hold on the handle.

Should probably cover the serial number.
There was that one guy here who messed up his hand loads and blew the rear apart. Luckily, the strong nature of the T97's build saved his life.
Looking for a repo qbz 95/97 / Type 97 bayonet. Have the adapter. Also the official PLA sling.. cheers
Typing in T97NSR on ebay will bring up PLA slings. Ive got one, they seem authentic, but the metal hardware is very loud.
Repro QBZ bayonets pop up occasionally as well but they are seriously marked up.
Thanks just ordered the sling, I really wish I could find qbz 85 type lower hand guard.. like the look so much better. I mean it’s just a piece of plastic really, anyone successful in doing this ? I saw DDI puma shotguns have qbz 95 lowers, I wonder if they would fit ? Hmmm
They won't, they're much bigger. I have seen someone working on a 95-style handguard, we'll see if it goes anywhere.
Like a CGN member or an actual vendor ? Interesting, I’d love that
Just shot a buddies again this last weekend.
It kills me that they have reliability issues with feeding, different mags, certain projectile type ammo etc etc
I had a gen 1 and it just would not feed anything. I think my receiver was badly machined. Every mag just sat too low and almost any ammo type would jam up hard far under the feed ramp.
Mine was terrible accuracy. I'm talking 12" groups at 50 meters with the irons. It's a bullpup with a sponge for a trigger and a 4" sight radius though in all fairness lol
It sucks because the rifle is built like a tank. The beefy AK style action is very smooth on them. I could overlook the wonky ergonomics on the safety (it's not that bad) it's the mag release that is beyond goofy.
I sold mine but a part of me went with it. It has some serious potential but I couldn't justify dumping thousands into it to try and improve on it.
I love the overall design of the rifle and action though. Huge fan. There are not a lot of rifles I would say confidently that I would drop down a flight of stairs then load it and shoot it but the T97 is one of them.
