The non FTU little charging handle should be fairly common among people who swapped FTUs onto their guns. Find one and rivet it back in and it should be fine.

I've had 2 Gen 1's so can't comment on the merits of a Gen 2, but I can say the LHG makes all the difference for me. It's as much of a game changer as the FTU.

Have a carry handle one. Like it over the flat top for only 2 reasons. First I use it for light bush carry and don't need precise long rang or accuracy. Second I like the look of handles on rifles (older A1 and A2 AR's, G36) and while I realize the flat top is more practical for most uses, by not mounting a scope I keep the weight down for those long hikes.

I planned on going FTU but I'm starting to like it as is.. I have a rail but the previous owner has misplaced the tention screws so is anyone has some I'll buy them! I want to mount my trs25.
