Do they work for the norinco m14 and has anyone used one or have one i am thinking of buying one to get a stock and sight mount all in one plus who sells for the best price?

And hold out for a first generation Troy... Trust me... The mk2 is .... Well let's just say there worse things do dump big cash into but....
I have assembled 5 MK2 versions for clients and the stocks did not impress.
Gen1 had allen key, hardened bolts whilethe new one comes with cheap, soft FLATHEAD screws/bolts.
When I was installing the first MK2 that I had the pleasure of handling.... Compared to my MK1...I wonder if the mk2 wasn't a chinese knock off.
As you can see... The TROY MK2 gets a VERY low rating from my bench

I put my Norinco M14 into a Mod0 MCS. Working great as a 'carbined' M14.

M14Doctor: I believe they changed to the flatheads due to user feedback... multitool/pocketchange is easier to come by than allen wrenches in the field.

I don't know if these are "in the field", ie:warfare , but possibly with LE departments
Flat heads , DEEP slotted ones would have been okay if proper material/hardening present. It was not on the stocks I assembled. I had to use extra care so as to not mar the screw heads
Also, the first Troys most beneficial feature, was its barrel retaining/dampening block which they completely omitted on the new version.
Also, the sight ear top rail mounting screws, deep socket allen type, on original version were machined untapered and fit inside the elevation and windage ears of the receiver.... The new version uses standard grade, standard depth, tapered machine screws, insufficiently hardened and a poor choice over the original.

Hey, they make a very nice product, I'm just giving an honest and educated review
You can spend the money on something that improves you rig or just simply makes it feel and look cool.
:D :D

My tests show the Gen 2 shoots poorly as well - the front end is to loose -

I have a Gen II TROY M14 MCS inbound :dancingbanana:

I am aware of this problem (why do you thing I have so many SAGE EBR stocks?) anyway...
I think I will go with the shortest barrel possible to compensate for the looseness.

The SOCOM has always been at it's very best in the TROY... not an option north of the border though.

Yes, I think I have developed an affinty for the Sage as well :D
And you know, H20man... It's your fault... all those glorius photos over the past few years hehehehe
We can have a Troy Socom, just can't take it anywhere but the range as it is in our "restricted" class

Oh my .... Fabrice.... Very nice hehehehe
Now if every purchase came with a pic like that inside.... The cgn divorce rate would go up LOL
Keep up the good work Fab ;)

Yes I had a Gen 1 and sold it to buy a gen 2. I wish I hadn't. The front barrel band guide has a fair amount of play where it meets the top rail.

I used two allen screws into the barrel band thru the drilled and tapped holes that are on the top rail. It tightned it right up and did away with the side to side wandering POI I had before. You have to make sure you have it centered when you tighten it up though or you can really mess with the windage. :D They definately didn't think out the Gen 2 very well and I would recommend the Gen 1 as well.

Frankly what the troy offers in looks it lacks in function. Very heavy and the way they lock down the barrel is IMHO a poor solution. Not impressive at all, aside from looks.

If you set the Mk1 up properly during instal, the platform offers exceptional long range results
But like Mr Rauch believes, it's a look cool thing over functionalty unless it's a weapon you are deployed with as a sniper.
I had the lofty idea that my ulltimate CQB/Tacrifle rig would be a norc , shortened and a troy with an eotech and magpul stock.... Boy was I wrong.
On the ground or up on the bench, with high end glass and a bipod is the troy's role, in my opinion anyways

As a sniper I'd take the good old R700, PGW etc. As a DMR I think I would be looking for something lighter, maybe the SEI crazyhorse... If there was a real choice maybe even an accurized draggy... DMR C7 might do the trick too... Truth is your gonna run what you brung as a sniper/DMR cause you probably don't have much choice.

Don't get me wrong I really like the M14 but some of the aluminum stocks out there are horrid. JAE looks to hold some promise, price is insane though.

I am stiil not sold on the JAE. In fact, I have seen many issues now with these stocks while fitting to both M1A and chinese variants.
The receiver lock tabs are a novel idea but the real issue I am finding is at the stock ferrule. More often than not the ferrule face contacts firmly against the gas band... Very bad
And at the same time no contact between bottom of ferrule and gas band lip.... Also very bad
For the money they go for..... What exactly are you paying for. A funky shape, cool grip, adjustable cheekrest and a few rails... And the proprietory receiver locking tabs.
The JAE is Not for me... :D LOL
Nice piece of kit if you can get proper fit up... A nightmare if not

And this is why I bought a stock from the DOCTOR can't trust things that look to good to be true (VLTOR). Thanks M14Doctor.
