This .22LR shortage is starting to piss me off.

If everybody stopped buying .22 ammo for 6 months you would be surprised how fast the price would drop. Greed and high prices go hand in hand, it will never change.

Wholesale in Kamloops has lots of federal target match 325 bulk for $22.Not a screaming deal 6.7 cents a shot but better than the $40 for most 500 round bricks, 8 cents per.

I dont necessarily see this getting any better so i stoked up this winter

1k x cci quiet
1k x M-22
444 x winchester
3 x Federal 525 value
5 x 100 CCI mini mags
1k x american eagle 40gr

on average probably cost me about 7c/round

I am glad I stocked up in 2011. I bought 2100 rounds for $89. In cabelas today there was no long rifle to be found.

Ahhh, the ammo cans. First one I bought was $89. So I bought a second at the time. Then a few months later I bought another for $99.

Last time I ever saw them were in Cabelas in Regina, nearly a year ago, and they were $119 for the can.

Cabelas in Edmonton had a pallet of the cans out on the floor, with the label on them. I got excited, until I picked one up and realized that all they were doing was splitting the ammo from the cans and selling everything separately.....limit of 2 boxes per customer.

I keep thinking I have enough to last me a long time, but it's not hard to go through a couple hundred rounds in a few hours. But I'm trying not to hoard, and I use my 17HMR more anyways.

Public Service Announcement:
Cabelas.ca currently has winchester 333 in stock, $19.99 (free shipping to your local store). They're limiting orders to 2 bricks per person, and will delete multiple orders for the same person :) (aka no hoarding allowed)

Hey, I don't need to hoard...I have 22,300 rounds of .22LR at home...

:dancingbanana:

I think it all comes down to you geographic location. In Alberta (Calgary area) I find it really hard to find good cheap 22lr or any at all. But I was recently in Ontario and stopped in a small town Canadian tire and could not believe the stock of 22lr they had! 100s of boxes of all different brands.... Maybe Calgary will catch on, doubt it, will probably resort to purchasing from online retailers like others suggested.

The Win. 555's seem to be readily available here in S. AB. Too bad they don't have enough ooomph to eject in our semi's. (fine in sons bolt though). Seen them in Walmart, Cdn tire and the local hardware stores around that 30-33/box mark. Local hardware store claims he has no trouble getting them?

Thats the ones I am talking about. Federal for some reason likes those tins. At the time I bought it I didn't think it was a good deal and then the price went up and up.
