She has been a crazy week boys. Most likely know of my affection for my Brno 21H in 7x57. Well it is a slippery slope or so it seems!

I had a thread about square bridge Mauser actions going in the Gunsmithing thread in an effort to make my ideal 9,3x57. Next thing I know two really great guys from CGN pm about one for sale that they thought I'd better jump at. So I did.:p
It is a 21H, in 8x57, a lovely new addition to my 275!;)

My plans were to put my 9,3 barrel on this rifle, but I've always wanted an 8x57 so I thought it a shame to violate it.
I put it on layaway until I could sell another toy in panic mode.
Last night I thought I'd drool over the pics on the website again....wait a minute, where did this ZG47 come from,....what the  9,3x62!!!!:runaway:
I couldn't believe my eyes, I didn't even think they were made in the Grand 9,3.
Needless to say, I scrapped up the cash, tried to call last night...closed:(
Barely slept all night and 8AM never came so slow.
Right on the stroke of 8 I called, and it was still available, but not anymore!:p

I am so pumped! I know there are other Brno lovers here and I thought you might like to see some pictures:

It has a 4X Ziess w/ German reticle = classic Moose and Bear basher!

I just found out an aquaintance has a Brno 22F in 7x57 too, guess who is at the top of the list if he wants to sell.

A fleet of Brno's in just two years, is there any addiction clinics out there I should contact?

Gorgeous ZG47 in a great classic calibre. Congrats on a great find!

There's no shortage of BRNO fans on Canadian Gunnutz, that's for sure.

Just remember, an addiction isn't a problem if you have lots of money :dancingbanana:

Bwhahaha, I used to tell myself that when I started making more, depends on the scale of your addiction  :runaway: Stay away from cars, boats, and aircraft... you think guns are bad? :dancingbanana:

Nice find. I few of us have been keeping our eyes out for just that gun.

Ralf Martini in Cranbrook has 5 Brno 21's in stock right now: 7x57, and 8x57. I prefer the 22H (shorter barrel) and am waiting for a price on a 21F.

Welcome to the club. There is no cure for the addiction btw.

I got a line here on a Brno full stock rifle here in SJ.

I haven't seen it, but I think it's a .308. That would be perfect rebored to a .358Win.

Paul, you'd have to ream that one to 9x57 or 9,3x57!;) I don't think you could find a Smithy that would go 358 Win on such a fine rifle!:p J/K

How rare are these 9,3x62's? I am getting pms to sell it already.
Sorry kids, she isn't for sale, this one is a keeper me thinks.;)

Frank deHass thought very highly of the ZG47.

I was thinking of PM'ing Noel with an offer myself but since the selfish bastar* :p is going to keep it for himself I'll just mosey on.

I'll have to check it out to confirm make and caliber, and BTW, I wouldn't rebore the bbl. I hate that bubba stuff on nice rifles.

Hey Noel, nice rifle you found! :D

Thanks Paul! Had it not been for you and Kristian, it wouldn't have it's home in Alberta, southwest Alberta anyway.....
I doubt there is enough meat in the barrel to open it up that much.

I was just razzing ya about using a non _x57 chamber in it, that's all.:p

Keep us posted Paul,(22F) and thanks again for all your help!;) ;) ;)

Can anyone tell me if the rubber recoil pad is origonal on the ZG47? I thought it would have had a Bakelite (sp) instead.

My Evil plan has been revealed! :runaway: My true identity exposed!

Don't worry Geoligist, I am up to my gills in debt to pay off now, even after the Husky 146 finds it's way back east, and when the Browning High power finds a new owner.

My hoarding should be over for awhile and I hope to use these three Brno's when my Wife and kids want to wander abroad. Some folks dress the whole family alike to keep track of them. Me, I'll give them a Brno to pack!:dancingbanana:

Noel

That is my thought too. It looked shorter in the picture than the 21H, that was my only concern that they hacked a big chunk off.
Some people's kids.....
I bet I will be happy to have that recoild pad, she looks fairly light and may toss me around a bit!

What do they generally weigh?

Noel

TO NOEL>To bad ya missed the really nice Husqvarna they had on the same shelf as the Brno 21H on the other side of the rack. P.S. didn't like the double gun.

oh how the worm has turned... I was just looking at my 180 cases of once fired and never fired 9.3x62 brass, man if I had dies that 06 might just make it into the locker.
