Ok so you guys convinced me. But a CF Tac Vest (Jean Jacket) or MOLLE?
And what to carry in it other then hydration and ammunition?
Dimitri
what rifle are you using?
Opens locker...removes CF Tac Vest...fills pockets with Misc. crap...preps for use in June matches...![]()

See my post #46.... EXACTLY what I was talking about. No dicking around and waiting or looking for s**t in your ruck.. Just go and shoot, or patch targets... whatever, you are ready for it....
A tac-vest may make you look like a poser, but its very useful, even for a civvie.
If you are shooting the matches in Ontario (including NSCC), it is useful to carry anything you may need on the rundowns, or in the butts on your person and not in your shooting bag/rucksack. This can include magazines, scorecards, ear defenders, spare ear plugs, shooting glasses, a pen, rain jacket, water, sunscreen, sight/scope adjusting tools, a breech safety device and enough ammo for the next match or two.
The equipment that can be carried in your pack is equipment that will only be needed at the firing point such as a spotting scope and your boxes of ammo.
Usually there is no time permitted after the rundowns to go back and get your stuff before going to the butts. On one occasion at NSCC during the second stage, I recall having to run all the way back to the 500m point and back to the 300 to retrieve my pack during my 2 minute prep-time for the next match, because the military teams carried all their teamates equipment forward for them, but as the civvie on the relay, mine was left behind.

If you've been in the CF for 16 years, I think you've earned the right to wear CADPAT...
