WTF is wrong with you people?
It folds in almost half the size and takes easily available pistol mags.:D
This is a wetdream come true for the urban wannabee mirror commando.:p

I'm on the waiting list and I will definitely crank out a pictorial review.
Did I mention that it folds?:HR:

Hopefully it comes with a mag or two. I would imagine at least one but the staff at Wolverine can not confirm anything yet.

All your members will dislocate if you fail to buy one.

Hi John,
I was careful not to name you in my original post because I'm not trying to throw you under the bus. My post was really trying to indicate that there is the possibility for a lot of dissatisfaction on both sides of the coin. Consumers see the going US price and then see the Canadian price. In this case 70% higher at MSRP levels. Distributors/importers feel like they have to jump through hoops to bring this stuff in. I don't really know the true cost of bringing in these weapons and don't really care to. It's not my business. I can see however that the current situation has little to recommend it for either side. Which is pretty much what you communicated in the second half of you Australian Mag post. Please don't feel like I was singling you out because I was not. I was being a little bit naughty as I only took a bit of your post to make my point. Obviously from your response I didn't make my point well enough.

Well lets see, if your not interested in knowing the hoops and the cost, then I think you should probably close the hole under your nose.

Thought I would pipe in here and confirm the retail price on the Sub2000.
$675 CAD gentleman. Thought I would add that the U.S. suggested retail on them is $409 USD MSRP not $300.
Please don't insult the inteligence of me and other's on this site by stating un-justifed stats.
The highest retail prices I have found in the US on this rifle;
DD's Ranch
$339.95 to $409.95
http://www.ddsranch.com/cart/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=277_290_352

The cheapest retail prices I have found;
R&R Arms
$292.99 to $336.00
http://www.rrarms.com/catalog.php?action=1037&brand=Kel-Tec&model=SUB-2000

Impact Guns
$292.99 to $329.99
http://www.impactguns.com/store/kel_tec_sub2000.html

Able's
297.84 to $302.38
http://www.ableammo.com/catalog/default.php?cPath=9935_13987_14084

I am pretty sure that these RETAIL company's are in the business to make money and I am sure that the MRSP is not the price you pay. So again I ask you to please don't insult us. Now we all know that there is a need for a profit but this rifle economically manufactured rifle at this extremely high price will notice that your profit margin will be substantially reduced compared to what you can be making if these were sold @ the $550. I will not bother to respond back in this posting again and will go off and play with my 858 @ the same price that shoot's cheaper x39 round that is only a few inch's longer with a side folder.

I don't understand why people are so offended by the price. Not something you're willing to pay? Then don't buy! Jesus H. Christ! It's oldest concept in the world.

Moving on quietly and not making an ass of one's self is older.:D

I on the other hand the SUB 2000 in Canada is pure tlts.
Nay to the naysayers.

I'm pretty sure that with the new barrels, new markings, import fees and all, he pays more than $290 per rifle.

The problem isn't paying $400 more than what it's worth in the US, the problem is it was a cheap rifle made for the cheap folks (like most of us). So quality wasn't as much as a factor than keeping the price low when they made these.

$400 on top of a $2000 item isn't too bad but $400 on top of a $300 item is pretty damn bad.

Anyways, I'll wait for the 40 s&w and then decide if I buy one.

well maybe next time vault wont go through the effort to bring us canadians some quality fun/tacticool rifles? nor will any other distributors if they are met with that attitude. if you want the gun so bad to b!tch about the price, remember that they have had to SPECIALLY MODIFY THIS RIFLE via barrel length etc. this may sound simple but it does end up being expensive. vault is getting us the best price he can.

The PMR 30 is is pinned to 10. We could all wish for the 30. We also include one magazine with the Sub2000 for the $675 price.

Thanks for brining in these guns. I don't like the price but also understand why it happens up here with all the added work. If it was restricted I would not look at it for more than $450.00 but non restricted I will take the plunge. I am on the short side of the lsit at Wolverine. I will also post up a review of it, possibly a video too for youtube. Over 1500 fps and 147 grain bullet makes it a bush gun for me and I can plink it on the farms if I wish as well. Thanks to Rob over at Wolverine!!!!!!

Has anyone thought that the price to import one rifle is the same whether it is a $400 dollar rifle, or a $3000 rifle?

How about some one look @ the complaints we had 4 - 5 years ago with John @ Wolverine on the AR180B?

Same issue everyone had. It was a 1K rifle in the US and we were paying 1700.

exchange was 25%.

So 1k + 250 + 400 (import) is 1650. Wow a whole 50 dollars more then the USA guy, for a limited market compared to the USA.

All you complainers on price need to stop complaining and get in the business and sell the rest of us these guns for 400 dollars.

As far as I can figure from all of this is that we get a ballpark price for the SU-16 when they come in. The sub 2000 sells at 65% over MSRP ($409.00) this means that the SU-16 will come in around $1100.00 ($665.00 MSRP). I realize we will have to wait and see but these Kel-Tecs are pricey (this is not a jab - just a sad reality that Canadians have to live with).

I'm sorry Satain feels the way he does. The stores he listed are U.S. online stores that do not purchase product direct from Kel-Tec. I will tell you this much, It will cost me more to land these Sub2000's in Canada, "my cost" then what some of these places are charging, and that is the truth gentleman. It makes me very mad, trust me. I'm a very fare honest guy, and have done my best to keep the prices as low as I can and still make a little bit of profit. To add, leaving room for our dealers to make a little bit of profit as well. Nobodies getting rich here.

I have over a year invested in working on this whole deal with Kel-Tec and great investment of time and money. I thought I would have had my first shipment three months ago. If we could sell these at a lesser price we would.

In future when Vault manufactures a higher volume of Sub2000's with Kel-Tec, our per unit cost will come down, of which we will pass on to our dealers and then to you guys for sure.

One of the other concerns we had at the time of ordering the custom Sub2000's, was being stuck with to many, and not being able to sell them if the other Kel-Tec rifles hadn't been approved by DOS.

Thanks for your support

This will be the last time I mention the SU16A2 until we have it approved.

The SU16A2 retail will be below a grand for sure. The version we have coming from Kel-Tec is next years model, hence the A2 behind it. I am told their is a couple changes from the current model. I guess I will know in a couple of weeks when we receive it. I will be sending this sample to the CFR to have it re classified. Hopefully non restricted. We already know that the rifle will have to be marked .223 Rem and chambered to meet DOS export law to Canada.

Vault Distribution will be launching its own forum built into the Vault website. I will let all of you know when its up and running. A few weeks away yet.

Nice I will be on that list too then!!!!!!! It would rock if they recalibered it so it was a hunting round for me and not jsut a varmit round, as per Sk laws. Thanks again for posting all the info and putting up with some of the negative comments. I am a customer and hope to be a happy one
THANKS!!!!
