why cant they use metric or imperial ?

I love this thread. A manufacturer is bending over backward to comply with assorted B.S. regulations, imposed by two different countries, in an effort to supply a product that has people salivating and quivering with anticipation. The manufacturer apparently has to re-mark guns, re-chamber barrels, etc. etc. etc.

The guns are not in this country yet. They may or may not ever get here. New and more ridiculous conditions keep being imposed on the manufacturer and importer by the feds, and they continue to comply. In the meantime, no retailer has offered the guns, and no retail price has been set (obviously).

And people are already whining and crying that they are being ripped off and gouged! WTF is wrong with you people?

I'm waiting for somebody to start #####ing about accuracy issues, or perhaps complain about dangerous catastrophic failures, in guns that they don't own yet, but claim they will buy sometime in the future.

This just gets better and better! What a bunch of...of...LIBERALS!!!:bangHead:

Very well said...

But...but....but that would be logical.....;)

That's what bugs me about CGN. There is not enought real information on the subject at hand to make a proper judgement, and people here panic at the slightest hint of a rumor. IE: Militia nuts down in the US are known for that and all it does is make them look like idiots and even gets them into trouble if they are dumb enough to act on it.

Its just stupid. We gun owners are supposed to be logical. Leave the wild-eyed rumors and other foolishness to the antis.

BTW I'm down for a Sub 2000 in 9mm and can take glock magazines...

How do you guys figure? It's a known fact that Arms East was going to bring them in with a price forecast for under $2K. You can check the posts if you wish. The forecast has now been $2500 from Vault. Again not rumours, it was posted by Vault. I spoke with a retailer the other day and there was foreshadowing IE I the price was most likely going to be North of the projected $2500. It's a distinct possibility. It's not wild rumours it's based on the information currently at hand.

It's funny I received the same sort of crud over on the KTOG forum when I saw the model that was accidentally shipped out. It was clearly the Canadian model. At the end it was confirmed that it was the Canadian model. Wild speculation/rumors etc or a hypothesis based on the information at hand? There is a difference.

Yes we'll have to see. That being said I don't see how voicing a concern about the potential of this product's price to skyrocket isn't legitimate. Look at the ACR in the States. People are simply giving a heads up to those involved that price does matter and some are starting to get concerned.

I'm pretty sure that the $2500 figure was referring to the RFB. The Sub2000 was much cheaper (well south of the $1000 mark) and seemed to be the most heavily #####ed-about gun. I've never yet seen an estimated price for the SU16, or even a confirmation that it will be brought in...and I'm not gonna re-read all this crap again to double check.

All I'm saying is that running around screaming that the sky is falling and wringing your hands about it is totally non-productive. The guns will cost what the importers and retailers decide that we will pay. If they are too cheap, then not enough money will be made and the situation will quickly correct itself. If they are too expensive, then not enough will be sold, not enough money will be made, and once again the situation will quickly correct itself.

None of the above constitutes a startling new idea. It's the way things work, and stressing about it achieves nothing.

This thread has stopped being fun or interesting. I must now find another scintillating debate, maybe something related to road hunting or perhaps the legality of bullpups.

The SU-16 was apparently 2nd to be ready for import :yingyang: , right after the Sub-2000....:)

Again, to me anyhow, it's all about beauty in the function....the function being the "shucking" of pistol-calibre ammo out of a non-restricted (folding!) firearm [AKA the Sub-2000], or of buying a non-restricted semi-auto 5.56mm (also folding!) for less than most current offerings....

I have no personal idea as to the long-term durability or "torture-tested-ness" of the Kel-Tec offerings, of course, but having bought an AR-7 just for kicks and been pleased with it until now, I'm willing to "gamble" on the Kel-Tecs....

Remember gentlemen, we have a ways to go on the SU16 yet. We still have to submit a sample to the CFR, and then have it approved by DOS for export. As I said before the end of January after the Shot Show if we're lucky. Have to run here.

Give us a holler when the sub 2000s are on their way up.

From what I understand, it should be easy to get them, seeing that they are already approved...

My bad......I was under the impression that the SU-16 was more "ready" for Canadian markets than the RFB was !......:yingyang:
