Tomahawk 1200 pics and first impressions(update,test fired)

I had a beef with them a few years ago when the VZ58's first came in. Originally the ad stated they were newly manufactured. What I got was a wel used firearm, complete with rust and a pitted bore.
Marstar's answer was to play the semantics game....."We didn't say new, we said newly manufactured".......they just left out the "out of old surplus parts" bit that they have in the ad now. And apprantly it was my fault anyway, I should have stripped the gun down there to examine it better, and remove all the cosmo while wearing my suit.....on my 1 hour lunch break.
It's cool, I haven't spent a dime there since. If that's how they treat returning loyal customers, I'll find other places to spend my money.

Mangil only posted a review, which i thought was quite informative = he wasnt bashing Marstar.
there is no call to rip on a paying customer for posting an honest review of a product that your company sells. you dont have to fight tooth and nail to exonerate every single cheap item Marstar sells - you could have simply handled it by saying that these are very low-budget shotguns and as such they will suffer from more fit & finish and materials shortcomings than the average $1500 Benelli, given him his refund, and left it at that.
publicly and personally attacking a customer with legitimate concerns about one of your products just makes you out as an arrogant ___ that most people just wont want to deal with.

MANGIL;
I would like to take a few moments to go over matters with you.
Obviously you are not satisfied with your purchase....{CLIP}
"The gun is internally rough... lots of machining marks and burrs"
I would appreciate your input here.
Please let me know how we can produce such a gun and offer it at a reasonable price and still remove all of these internal machining marks ? How do the have any negative effects on the functioning ?...{CLIP} Thank you for your input and we look forward to meeting with you
John

John, I don't purchase on-line because it can be a shot in the dark. I've worked in the machining industry for 26 years. Based on the photo's provided, and the fact that one of the three choke tubes doesn't thread in correctly, I agree with MANGIL's assessment of the machining quality.
That being said, for the price, it's not reasonable to expect top of the line fit and finish, for firesale prices.
I would however suggest that the burrs MAY be easily removed by running them thru a media tumbler. Its a good way to remove burrs and visual blems without a lot of cost and next to no manpower.
Is the metal rail investment cast then machined? The slots have rounded edges. Given the rest of the fit and finish, I wouldn't expect that level of hand finishing on an accessory. Regardless, the mounting holes and hardware are crude to say the least, but again, it's an ecconomy firearm.

But you know, it's not the quality of the firearm that caught my attention. It's the snide remarks you've made to customers that apparently had just cause to be critical. You cannot be "omnipresent", and neither can I, however I know my crew, and I know who needs my presence, and who can work unsupervised.

Last and final update to my saga: Credit Card was refunded the whole amount I paid initially, plus return shipping, for a grand total of 370.07 on August 27 - 2008.

I'm not going to get into the goings on here, take sides, or whatever... I too purchased one of the Tomahawks w/ the pump action, folding stock and pistol grip, 5 interchangeable chokes.

Is it as nice and work as well as my fathers Beretta Silver Pigeon? - nope

Does it do what I want (shoot skeet and other fun things)? - yup

Am I happy with my purchase (and dealing with Marstar)? - yup
