After a brief battle with Lymph cancer, we had to let our buddy go today. I'm missing him big time already.

So sorry. Its like loosing a family member. A good dog will never stiff you on an early morning hunting trip because of a cold or hangover. Mine is buried at the back of the acreage between the two tallest trees.

great looking dog

Sorry for your loss, I know what it is like because I am on my third swamp collie, it never get easier, you guys need time.

Sorry to hear of your loss
Most of us have been there :(

Really made me wonder why so many dogs are getting tumors lately??
Lost two myself :(
I have come to believe a percentage is from buying cheap dog food!!
You know the stuff where they feed the whole animal without hide into a machine that chews it up.
So in effect all the chemicals etc the animal has managed to filter is then released into the new dog food mix.

Here's a site grading a number of dog foods available.

Even the famous IAMS barely gets a passing grade (D).
Hint DO NOT buy food that says animal byproducts on the label.

not to sound callous, but i read/heard somewhere the average life of a golden is 7 years due to all the interbreeding and other health problems- i'm on just as big a hook however- i have yet to get any more than 10 out of my gsds- even the ones that are healthy always seem to develop "unforseen" health problems- stroke, diseases, whatever
