Tradex has a large selection of Schultz and Larson .22s again...

For the rear screw, is the front the same threads? If so, you could take it to a hardware store and try and find a match. If you find one get it a bit longer then the OEM rear and cut it down to size. Other option is to get a smith to tap the rear hole for something more common that will work like a Rem700/Win70/Mauser rear screw and use one of those instead.

The front one is just a wood screw.

I finally shot my M61 today, and wow am I blown away. I only did a quick 10 round group at 25 yards because I was at work, but I like this gun. I have a long list of excuses for it not being smaller, but its not too shabby for literally unwrapping it and shooting it. I sneezed and pulled the bottom shot, so it should have been a .473" group, stupid hay fever. I'm pretty happy seeing how the only rest I had was a jacket on the hood of my truck. I think this rifle has potential. The trigger pull with the double set triggers is supposed to be 1.5oz. I don't have any way to measure it, but I have no reason not to believe it. There's no trigger movement before it fires either.

Thats different to.

Then I'd go the gunsmith route, get the rear hole tapped for some common screw like 1/4"x28, he will likely have plenty on hand.
If you know how to tap a hole, I could mail you a tap and you could do it yourself, pretty sure I have one in that size. I'll have to check tomorrow and let you know for sure.

Thanks. I just ordered screws from Fastenal. I will see how it works.

Well I got dies now for the rear sights for the M70 (6x0.75) and the pre-m70 sights (6x1.0). I'm going to rethread some Willams and Lyman peeps and see how that goes...

I broke down and ordered my second Schultz & Larsen. I ordered one with a chopped down stock (10" LOP) but working bolt. I figured with a chopped stock I wont feel bad if I have it drilled and tapped for a scope and build the stock back to length myself. Was also less expensive and stock work isn't new to me anyway. I was going to go with a 14" LOP since I'm a taller guy (6'3"). Not decided if I want to use one piece of walnut to bring the stock to length or try a laminate of contrasting woods (walnut and maple maybe?).

I bought 2 of the ones with 11" LOP for my girlfriend. My plan is to make new adjustable LOP hardware. The LOP hard where that mine came with is super hill billy deluxe.

Here's mine.

How does yours extract. Mine extract the brass, but the brass stays in the action unless I ram the bolt back real fast.

Bought it for 200$, they stated the bolt had issues closing. Turns out it was rubbing on the wood. (shhhh don't go tell them)
That barrel is quite something. Bigger then my Savage .22 Bull barrel.
