Too damned rarely! 4 years with no adult tags! I have to admit though, the last few years, moose numbers by what we have seen, are way down. We did score this past year though. this bunch never made an appearance during the moose season.

from the pics, it seems the fight started when one bull decided to destroy that little tree you can see between the bulls. The fight lasted all day pretty much. Lots of pics, this is just the best one.

I had a three legged bear coming to my baits for a couple of years running. Last pics I got she had a couple of cubs, so she must be doing ok. Left foreleg is missing below the elbow. I didn't bother putting baits out this year, but I'm assuming she's still around.

On the morning we left our bear hunt, bear on cam...

Just the day before, I got my second bird in what turned out to be the fastest hunt ever - 9 minutes in and out. Walked in the trail, 3 yelps on the mouthcall, immediate gobble, not 75 yards ahead. Immediately dropped to the ground, tossed the laydown hen out on the trail and quickly set up my jake behind her (amazing how hard it is to get that decoy and stake out of the bag when you have to do it fast), and then speed crawled into the coniferous bush along the edge of the trail and got my gun up. Branch poking me in the back, mosquitoes swarm me right awa, but he's gotta be right there, no time to set up the thermacell. Man the bugs were ferocious, nose, mouth, around my eyes, biting my ears and hands through the thin camo fabric. Thankfully the foliage is now out, or I would have been busted for sure. Not sure what he thought was causing the noise I made getting sat down, but I must have sounded like a bear somersaulting through the dry twigs and leaves. I had to wait all of 30 seconds, and his white head pops up, sees the decoys, struts a bit, looks again, cautious probably due to all the noise I made setting up in a panic, raises his head ignoring the decoys and looking right at me, touched off the shot and he was down, didn't even flap once.
