14 calls today and over an hour on hold.
2 transfer from August 12th approved. Oddly enough they weren't ref # I was calling about.
Only 7 more transfers to go
Has anyone here tried showing up in person to the CFO?
I'm going to be in the area tomorrow and was wondering if people think this is a bad or good idea!

Does anyone know how long it takes to get the new registration papers in the mail? Got my transfer approved on August 25. Nothing yet… I did get my new licence with “transportation conditions” 2 days ago.
Do I need that registration in hand before I go to the range?
Thanks.
I called in today for another ATT and again I asked about some of my pending transfers. The lady on the phone dissapeared for about 10 minutes and was able to get them approved. One of them was even an out going to Ontario, yes an Ontario transfer submitted on 20 Aug 2022 was cleared today. The buyer was very please to say the least.
Yes you need the Registration in hand to take it to the range.
I got my registration on August 31 for a transfer that was approved on August 15; so just over 2 weeks, which is right in line with my past experience with getting Reg Certs pre-freeze announcement.
I'm fine with waiting, it's all the " I called in and they did all mine on the phone while I waited" claims that sort of lead me to believe that after over 2 months of waiting some people might be cutting the line with the help of the BCCFO.
More annoying then waiting for them to rubber stamp paperwork is not being able to call in and complete a transfer so it can be forwarded to the rubber stampers.
The nonsensical new non restricted rules are probably not helping with the work load.
This has been my argument, why do I need someone to rubber stamp every restricted purchase I make? I'm already licensed to own that particular class of firearm, why do I need to be manually approved each time I make a purchase?
It just seems like a giant waste of my tax dollars for them to be doing all these rubber stamps.
Also yes, I agree I'm getting annoyed with these people that are cutting the line, while those of us are waiting patiently for our approvals.
usually inside a week from when they send them out but its how long they take to send them out that's the wild card from my experience nothing from the canadian government rcmp etc is ever fast takes the CRA 2 weeks to mail you out a new code for your online services etc. And yes the lady told me today you need the paperwork before going to the range you get the temp pass to go from the post office to home if your not home when its delivered and you need to go pick it up. after that if you need to go to a new home or to the gunsmith gun show etc you need a temp pass for that tooDoes anyone know how long it takes to get the new registration papers in the mail? From what I can gather, they're not really cutting the line because the people who work the phones only work the phones (at least according to others on this thread who have asked the people on the phone). They are not tasked with approving transfers if they aren't on the phone... And if that is the case then an argument can be made that they are actually speeding up the rest of the transfers, because if the phone people ONLY approve transfers if people call in about them, then all those transfers being approved by calling in are getting removed from the pile that would have to be approved by the people who do approve them, thus increasing the number of overall transfers done in a given day.
And because its the BC CFO office, not the CFP office that is approving transfers, you can't even blame these people for tying up the phone lines that you need to get through to start/continue a transfer.
