Trophy Room......Finally Finished......Last Pics

For some people, including many hunters, a room full of a lifetimes' worth of hunting is very off putting. I'm a very avid meat hunter and have a few sets of antlers around the house but I can't stand taxidermy. Just creeps me out and I damn sure wouldn't want a room full of it staring at me. I can appreciate this collection for the effort/dedication and passion it took in building it but I can understand some folks finding it a bit too much without being anti-hunting. It floats your boat so have at it, enjoy the room and the memories it represents.

I hope to some day have 1/10th of the number of stories you have Douglas. Considering how entertaining it is to hear my small, young group of hunting friends tell our stories of our little white tail hunts, I can't even imagine what it would be like to share a bottle of scotch and listen to you go through the stories that live on your wall.

Well RF, you only live a few hours drive from me, I know because I have done it 100 times, so any time you want, just show up with that bottle of scotch and I'll supply the narrative (BS). I'm going to be in your town in three weeks, could grab a coffee or drink if you have the time. I am coming to the African Hunting show on the 27-29 so I'll be in town Fri night, Sat and Sun A.M. sometime in there I have to run up to Innisfail and grab a mount of mine but I'll be available pretty much anytime, no drinks before 5:00 PM though, I have my rules I live by. ;)
Any other gunnuts going to the show or living in the area and would like to get together for a coffee or drink, just PM me and we'll work it out. Always interested in meeting other CGNrs........no such thing as too much gun and hunting talk.

For those of you who don't have a clue what I'm talking about and have no idea where YYC is.........unless I'm too old to correctly remember my city airport designators, YYC is Calgary.........

That would be mighty fine assuming I'm in town with it being my busy season now!

Firstly c-fbmi let me congratulate you on piecing together such a fine collection. I'd imagine the stories held within those walls would fill a great deal of pages well worth reading.

I know you mentioned you prioritized your disposable income to fund these hunts, but collecting trophies, cars, guns and planes is certainly no small or easily affordable undertaking .

May I be so bold as to ask what line of work you're in to afford such exciting luxuries?

And to those complaining about this man proudly displaying his harvest - if you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen.

seth....................I'm retired..................;););)

Previously though I started my own electrical business in the Yukon in 1983 and basically just worked my bag off, found a market niche became the expert in my niche and worked my bag off..........also did I mention, I worked my bag off !!!
Way too many 20 hour days and 7 day weeks and 2 wives later and this is what I have to show for it...........

OP, what you have created is phenomenal. I imagine myself sitting in the middle of the room with a drink in one hand listening to your stories. You have done what so many of us can only dream about.

If I ever make my way from Prince Rupert to the Yukon I'd love to witness what you have created.

Well done

MS.........I have retired to south central BC so travel to the Yukon would only result in disappointment in this case.....

Thanks for the kind words though.
