trouble in white court Alberta

if the first sentance of your post was meant to be sarcasm and not a reflection of your mind set then my apology - I entirely took another meaning from it and you should use more smilies so as not to leave the wrong impression. As you may have gathered I came away from that service station with a strong opinion of local hospitality and it took a few miles down the road to realize that perhaps not everyone shares the gas station attendant's opinion especially I imagine not the business district of Valley View.

I have to say this has been a very interesting thread. Enlightening too with info on the partner tag (etc) situation.
I kinda get the feeling that as good known hunting areas shrink due to non-hunter types buying up land and farmers restricting use of their land, that there will be more and more competition so to speak between hunters for the good areas left. I would think that we are an elite fraturnity for all intents and purposes and should "stick together".
I've lived in Ab. now for 16 years now and haven't hunted big game since leaving Ontario due to not knowning where the good crown spots were, or my finances wouldn't just wouldn't allow, and other interests cropping up. :( Now I'm seriously back into guns and hunting and the finances are better. :D
This past fall I have been given 3 invites to hunt next year and I will gladly accept them. :)
I used to drive long haul back in '93 to '98 and at least once a week had to drive north up 43 and always stopped in Whitecourt for fuel. Care always had to be taken on that stretch of hiway in the summer as the sides of the hiway would have 30 or 40 deer standing around or laying in the sun. I asked at the Esso on the north end of town where the crown land was and was promptly told by a guy that all the land surrounding town was private. So, it looks like the attitudes haven't changed much regarding sharing the wealth so to speak. Since all I ever did was stop for fuel I can't comment on how the rest of the community is.

Gee - that's just too bad - I didn't know the moose were branded with your brand - How terrible for you:).
The above quote makes about as much sense as me saying - You're the reason I have to be in line to get an operation at one of OUR hospitals in Calgary. Stay where you belong and use your own medical facilities.

Everyone who is a tax paying resident of this province is entitled to all the benefits that this province provides and that includes your moose up north.

You don't want us to hunt moose in your back yard but you're more than willing to have us buy fuel, eat in your restaurants, stay in your hotels, drink in your bars, etc etc etc. WHAT HIPROCRISY!!

My friend and I have decided that if another incident happens like I've described above we shut the gas pumps down immediatly, pay for the fuel up to that point, Inform the manager why we are taking our business across the street and finally when we get back write the chain involved. With any luck we can get the individual involved fired or at least get him to sit through an educational seminar about customer service and how it applies directly to his job.:jerkit:

By the way I plan on going back to hunt more of YOUR moose and YOUR deer and YOUR elk and whatever else lives up there.

Come on up PSE and we'll offer a one time educatinal seminar on how to relax in the north.;) while heavily making fun of your hunting buddies while drinking spiced rum, mixed in with many breaks from the work and at least 4 naps a day.

That concrete jungle of yours is getting to ya:p

But!!! if you get hurt you have to go back to Calgary (medivac):D

For sure... There are many families like yours who 'legaly' hunt or put in draws. but there are tonnes who 'use' the draw system to get extra tags. I personally know a guy (buddies dad) who shot a moose on his wifes tag went to town got her and tagged the moose. the fish cops got wind of it (small town) and proved that she was at work during the kill... they charged him not sure of the fine but he was banned from hunting/fishing for 3 or 5 years (i forget which) but there are many more that get away with it.

Well if the family is going to get draws and tags the family should be out there hunting too. :D

My wife won't go hunting so no use getting her to try to get a draw. My mother on the other hand has no problems spending a week out in the hunting camp and hunting. She really dosn't shoot so well so its a good thing there are others around to help finish off them wounded critters (or frightened nearly to death, its hard to tell sometimes) :)

as for getting caught, if the person with the draw is not present to do the shooting then it serves them right to get caught, they are breaking the rules.

oh and it was a very poor year for deer where I was hunting too. Lots of unfilled tags, including one mulie buck draw tag

Anyhow, well I tell you what friend you handled it way better than I. Because f**king guaranteed I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN POINT BLANK IN BUDDYS FACE AND HAD WORDS!

MATTER OF FACT THANKS FOR THE INFO, CAUSE NEXT TIME I'M IN WC I WILL PAY THAT STORE A VISIT, AND I WILL CALL ANY BLOODY REDNECK OUT WHO IS STANDING AT THE COUNTER, TO SEE IF ANYONE HAS A PROBLEM WITH ME SHOOTING THEIR f**kING DEER....

And we will take it from there. f**k I hate people like that...he was probably a wife beater and a drunk anyway. Maybe a queer too..

C'mon K'98...don't hold back....tell us how you REALLY feel.ROFLMAO!!!!!:stirthepot2:

Beat the s**t out of every man in the town while you are at it, then show the Whitecourt ladies what a real man is.

LMFAO some more....I'm almost in tears now.

Won't be long before someone quotes that in a sig line :D

HOLY F&$% BOYS....yer killin' me!!!Too fk'n funny.:D

Come out east of edmonton to where true hospitality is...( right Rick65cat) and try hunting out here....way easier then dealing with some idiot that thinks he owns all the deer cause they are on his land....funny thing is if i can remember right all animals in Canada just like the water here are the Queens property...

The land owners might own the land, well the top 6 inches of it but they dont own the animals on it..or the water or water ways on it...

And with that I'll close this useless thread.

To think the only way to find it was by giving Grinrgrn hell for his sigline before I had to look around to find out where it came from.
