Troy PAR

Doing a little research online on this rifle when wham I read up on the hate on for Troy Industries re: their hiring of Ruby Ridge FBI sniper Dale Monroe where this guy and his partner murdered a woman holding her baby.

Anyone have any insight on this

Well before they did that they had to manufacture some bogus charges on Mr Weaver before showing up.
As per the norm, the government agents walked away without facing any repercussions.

A few documentaries out there on it.

If the M&P 15/22 is restricted you can garrantee this will be also. It's black and looks like an AR, that's all the RCMP need to make this gun restricted.

Except for of course the fact that this is a manual/pump action and not a semi auto. But don't let little things like that get in the way of your thought process.....

I made a point of handling the Troy PAR at the SHOT show last month. I was really impressed with it and without doubt will buy one if they are NR. The folding stock is really slick too. Restricted will make them pretty much useless up here. The rep at Troy was aware of our classification challenges and was hopeful as well for favorable FRT decision.

Considering other classification decisions were based on ??????, the Troy pump may well wind up restricted. Looks like Troy gave a lot of thought to beating the anti-AR laws and good on them for that. Offering multiple calibres is a marketing no-brainer.

The review in 'Guns & Ammo' didn't say much good about the folding butt stock, but big deal. It's not being sold as a precision rifle and tens of thousands of pump action rifles have dropped all kind of game since the Winchester and Remington self-loaders came out.

We need more gun designers to come up with firearms to circumvent illogical, oppressive laws that serve no useful purpose.

As for Troy employing an ex-FBI 'baby killer', get over it! We've got a national police force that has broken several legal and moral laws time and again and we live with it. Let's fix what's broken here before throwing stones at a gun maker that is trying to be proactive in the fight for gun owners.

Any update Mr Gadget? Its been a while since your first Troy PAR post. Looking for a way to spend more money than I should on something I don't need.

I think the Troy PAR, if classified as NR, will find a niche within the Canadian market. Looking forward to their release. I've always preferred pump shotguns to semis. I'm sure I can learn to appreciate a pump black rifle equally.

Hopefully by next hunting season we will have an answere. If its not NR then ill be looking into the remington police. I really want a pump action which takes AR mags. This one takes the cake and has good reviews.

I won't be buying one. I aready have a Remington 760 in 30-06

Unless they came out with a .308, a .223 would be useless for hunting (as in deer, moose, elk etc).

Allegedly they make a 308.

http ://troydefense.com/pumpactionrifle/ - look at the last listing on that page. A bit heavy at 8.5 lb, but I'm sure I could get used to it.
