Troy102 owners thread

As anyone tried to replace the bolt catch, the worst thing I hate about the rifle is the bolt catch retaining pin.

Good luck. When I saw how the bolt catch pin was at a store while handling one of the rifles I burst out laughing, then handed the rifle back. That was the end of my interest in the Troy 102. I figured if they missed that, there would probably be other issues as well.

Realistically I have no idea how you'd change it. Maybe drill it out with a super long drill bit? This should have been done with a threaded pin like on a Stag 10.

I'm about to buy a couple cans of brownells aluma hyde and spray bomb it magpul FDE, hows that?

I miss living close to the Border, when I lived in Chilliwack I would get Brownells Alumi-hyde shipped to Sumas,WA as they would not ship dangerous goods over the Border. It's almost impossible to get that stuff in Canada without going over the border and bringing it back over yourself.

I love it, it's still a hassle to go the the border ~ 2 hours out of my day + $3.50 USD per package.

But just having the option to do that is great. Unfortunately going to the border doesn't work for a lot of gun related stuff.

Don't get me started on ITAR.

I had never had a problem aluma-hyde, to CBSA it's just paint.

Stag will not be compatible as it is an Armalite receiver design. If you compare BCL with TROY pictures you will see they are different too but both based on DPMS design.
I wonder how many TROY's were sold altogether, I don't think we will see more of them coming in the country.
my friends TROY works like a charm I will take pictures next time I see him.
