Trudeau and Blair BAN 12 Gauge and 10 Gauge SHOTGUNS!

Maybe when the clay guys’ 30k shotguns are banned they will stand up.

I have two 12Ga. Krieghoff K-80s with Tula chokes. They are permanent, not screwed etc. ID measured is 20.2mm... I guess I have two of those (not that they are 30k each though...)

Emergency flares are 26.5mm

I carry emergency distress flares when boating and when flying in remote (bush) areas. Standard European or surplus Emergency flares are 26.5 mm (launcher bore approx 26.6 mm). A standard accessory for 26.mm launcher is a 26.5mm to 12 ga. insert adapter to allow use of 12 ga flares. The 12 ga adapter has a bore at its breech of 20.5 mm.

What will the status of emergency/survival flare launchers be under SOR/2020-96 ?

Did they change the wordings on the actual OIC ?

No. They just vomited out the tweet again
A spokesperson for Blair confirmed Wednesday that the choke will not be considered when measuring a firearm's bore diameter.

"The regulation introduced on May 1 does not prohibit 10 and 12 gauge shotguns. The regulation for 10 and 12 gauge is based on their standard size, both under 20 mm," the spokesperson said.

"In accordance with acceptable firearms industry standards, the definition for bore diameter explicitly states that is after the chamber, but before the choke in shotguns. Therefore, if the measurement is taken at any other location, it is not a factor that is being considered under amendment 95 of the Regulations."

Oh oh... now do acceptable industry standards for "military style" assault rifles...

Its exciting news we are going by industry standards from now on!!

One would assume if the industry standard labels them modern sporting rifles then surely they dont need to ban all these guns!

In accordance with acceptable fireamrs industry standards, the AR15 is a modern sporting rifle and not an assault weapon. FTFY

Too bad tweets don't change laws. Otherwise I would have already tweeted that the AR is non restricted.

The industry argument will be a good one when you file your judicial review for revoked ar-15 certificates

Whereas the Governor in Council is not of the opinion that any thing prescribed to be a prohibited firearm or a prohibited device, in the Annexed Regulations, is reasonable for use in Canada for hunting or sporting purposes;

The governor in council is forbidden from prohibiting firearms that serve a hunting or sporting purpose. As per industry standards the Ar-15 is THE sporting firearm for many competitions.
