Trudeau and Blair BAN 12 Gauge and 10 Gauge SHOTGUNS!

Here is a quote from the latest CSSA email

This morning, the RCMP confirmed the first 12-gauge shotgun prohibited under the new Order-in-Council.

The deadly evil weapon? An old Iver Johnson single-shot, fixed choke 12-gauge shotgun with a 2 3/4" chamber. That's right, a standard old farm gun.

RCMP Technical Unit Supervisor, Tim Hobbs, confirmed this firearm would be classified as prohibited in a phone call with a prominent firearms dealer.

Official document to verify this please? Until then... https://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/en/firea...-new-prohibition-certain-firearms-and-devices

Still wont be decided by them, a few years down the line this 20mm bore diametre will be brought against some poor guy in court. The rcmp dont create precedent, judges do, and its only a matter of time. This country sucks.

Are we still talking about this??
Shotguns are not getting banned. Bill Blair the ex criminal cop said so himself.
Time to move on to important issues like getting him fired for being incompetent.

Many of this countries politicians, and their fully asleep sheeple followers suck.

That said, while it’s possible for some poor hunter to be arrested under this law, a firearm expert would have to testify against the hunter- and if the experts use the definition in the FRT- which is completely logical- their testimony will acquit the hunter.

This is fake news and fear mongering. Do liberals dislike guns, yes... did they ban any sort of shotgun, absolutely not. Please get your facts straight and stop the fear mongering. All this does is question the integrity of firearms owners and paints a poor image of us. I assure you the liberals will never come after your hunting shotguns and bolt action rifles...

Well, since you assure us then everything will be ok.

The process is the punishment then?

That hunter will have to be dragged in the court system, have his firearms seized, have a criminal record, and he will be paying thousands of dollars in legal fees to prove that his firearms is NOT prohibited?

That’s no different than the dozen other poorly written laws in our country.

How many people printed out and laminated the RCMP classification on LAR pistol mags to prevent arrest and seizure? Or the FRT showing BCL 102 rifles are non-restricted. Or several other laws that a rookie officer may misinterpret.

This is now one of those. While you won’t be convicted, if you are concerned it’s best to print off that RCMP notice and bring it with you to prevent arrest.

No because as the current law sits the RCMP do not consider them prohibited and thus will not be arresting or charging anybody, for the time being anyways.

The Mounties cover for their sleazy boss and you guys cover for them. The full disarmament is now or later.

Right!

The RCMP's changing opinion means as much as Blair's twitter account does and can only be seen for what they are. Until this is clarified by case law, a change in the regulation or criminal code then all we have is the ambiguous wording of the regulation, not a tweet or "Important Notice".

And last I checked, the FRT is not law.

Hopefully those jumping on the RCMP opinion bandwagon are not the same folks that refused to pin their 10/22 mags because that was only an opinion.

Hope you don’t use LAR-15 pistol mags then. Same logic.

Didn’t think I’d ever see the day a proud Canadian gunowner be upset the RCMP is NOT considering a gun banned...crazy times.

No one's proud here. This is a flawed regulation one way or another, but that's been pointed out countless times to you over the past few days so you do you bro.
