The OiC is almost too malicious to be born of ignorance. Banning anti-material rifles that would only be useful in countering an oppressive regime, and not in any way preventing civilian criminal activities, doesn't appear to be of interest to public safety... Don your tin foil hats!![]()

The government of C(hina)anada does not want its citizens in possession of firearms that may be used against an oppressive regime.
To my knowledge, a .50bmg has never been used in a crime in North America. There is no good reason to ban it, other than the above.
