$1000, is far to much for this rifle, could buy 4 SKS at that price.
Around $700-$800 is about as much as I would consider paying for this rifle.

Will continue to enjoy the very reliable and battle tested $200 SKS.
If price doesn't drop on Type 81… oh well, thats $1000 saved that can go towards another SKS and pistole.

I don't doubt you have exclusivity with Polytech. But Polytech and Norinco do compete with each other even in commie China. As does Emei.

At least that is what I've read of why they have two such entities.

What I don't understand is why ppl keep comparing $1000 Type 81 to $200 Sks. Do those ppl have to surrender their sks as soon as they buy another rifle for M43 cartridge? Is that a choice of professional tool or what? Why all these talks " I can buy four sks for that money"? Go and buy, it won't make you Type 81 owner.

I did a while back.
I owned one of the 858's actually but ended up selling for the same reason I stated.
Couldn't justify $1K tied up in a rifle that shot the exact same as my dirty old $180 SKS. So I sold her not too long after trying it out and bought another crate of M43 surplus lol
That's just me though. You all enjoy your T81!

Ok, this is how it's done, he's (and a few others) not trying to argue against it with some economic BS, just I'm well served by the SKS at 1/5th the price. I'd suggest it's more like a 1/4...in fairness you'd have to add the TacTicCal Stock and some clips (I can't stand the issue stock).

Exactly Sir. But no tactical stocks lol SKS as is or it quickly loses its low price appeal ;)

yep, needs to take ak mags, blued and ribbed barrel for sure. Bayonet lug another great feature required. Grey finish has never been a great sell.

Almost everything that TI sells as the "exclusive" dealer...within a year or so other retailers sell it at 1/2 to 2/3 the price.

I just can't see myself parting with my money to support a retailer that I do not feel supported its customers when it mattered most.

That being said...hats off to TI for once again being first at bringing another cool item our way. Keep it up.
