Yep, the same people that ask for this and that in this cal and that cal don't know much about how the firearms industry works. There's no magic wand that can make things happen. I bet these are also the ones that hum and ha and miss out when cool guns finally do drop - then complain about not getting one lol
ya I got an email back finally just said that they would replace it with a blued one no mention of phosphate one and it would be on my dime to get it switched...... don’t understand how they quality could be so different between the two really liked the phosphate on mine.
Thing is tho is there already are rifles based on the type 81 in .308/762x51 iv asked that question many times I know full well the logistics of the question but that's exactly what it is a question. I don't ever expect a company to haul the rifle out of their behind.
you have to pay the shipping, why ? is it under warranty?
My phosphate is fine. Just did a full inspection because I was a bit worried. The wood on both of mine (one each) is not 100% where it meets the butt plate but easily fixable. The wood on the phosphate one is nicer, has a slightly deeper colour.

Client's top handguard had some imperfections, we offered to send replacement. Client did not like that upper handguard was not phosphated like receiver so we offered free exchange of rifle to blued, but they would have to cover sending original back as it was a courtesy and not a warranty issue at that point
If it's warranty then free ship both ways
Sounds more like to be expected service rather then awesome service.... glad you got things sorted out tho.
So I received my phosphate a while back and it had some bad cosmetic issues. I promptly contact TI and they were awesome about sending it back after seeing some photos, all went smooth and hassle free. My new phosphate showed up today and looks collector grade in comparison, absolutely pleased with TI's handling of the situation.
