I also had a phosphate one with upper handguard having cosmetic problem, I was told that I can get a replacement handguard for free or if want to exchange for a blued version LMG, need pay a shipping for it. Since the replacement handguard will still be a blued one, I prefer to have it exchange for a complete blued version, hope it will turn out to be good.

So got my blued instead of phosphate today and its 1000x better then my phosphate one was. That being said its not without some issues. The buttplate and carry handle caps were painted to cover up bluing loss or scratches... not a big deal, the main issue is my top hand guard is pitted to heck as well as being painted in some spots.
So im emailing them to get a replacement top hand guard . The rest of the rifle im happy with.
Also I never tested my mags on the phosphate one so here's another issue. 2 of my 4 mags the bolt hold open doesn't work and it doesn't either on my drum mag ? I dont know if the drum is supposed to but the 2 standard mags dont and 2 others i bought do. Hope its a mag issue and not a rifle issue ffs.
If I didnt have bad luck I wouldn't have luck at all lol

Gets worse lol just closely inspected it after work after wiping all the oil off, seem my top receiver cover is also lightly pitted ? Either I got two lemons in a row or they are straight just reapplying bluing to milsurp parts. Not newly manufactured like they are supposed to be or we were told.
Guess ill see if the can replace the two top covers, and 2 non functional mags and the drum if its supposed to have hold open.
If not then I'll try a 3rd rifle and if it's trash ill get a refund. Disappointed to say the least.

Drums do not hold the bolt open when empty.
Are you sure it is pitting and not just a bit of rough texture on the finish?

No its pitting lol, so much so that TI is sending me out a replacement gas tub hand guard, receiver cover and 2 new mags on their dime.
I'm happy with that and will live with the rough tooling marks on my rear sight base instead of risking a rougher replacement.
