Has anyone received any of those direct fit mounts? Any pics ??
I have a feeling that it might interfere with Samson cheek riser.
I am on the waiting list for one of those mounts.. from the guy on #######.. he says the shipment is delayed by CP. Hope to get one soon and test it out for my self.
Seen a few underfolders rocking it on Canada Guns reddit.

He sent me a text yesterday saying they where back in stock so I ordered the mount. I’ve been wondering that same exact thing myself. I hope you don’t mind if I let you try it out first and let us know if everything fits and is functional before I go ahed and order the Samson cheek rest.
Ps: there is a 2nd gen optic mount for the under folder that comes with an adjustable picatinny rail and the M4 threaded mounting screws that will be available in late may.
Yes. Got the email and ordered as well. I will report on cheek rest once the mount comes. As for 2nd gen, i dont think thats the case.. even the first gen had mlock slot to attach a small rail. So as far as i understood the email, second batch in May will include the mount + mlock rail + OR pins..
Most AK mags would fit with minor modification. Most will only require some square filing at the front nose and à small groove at the back to acomodate the bolt.
Some mags like US Palm have some raised design on the sides that will need to be trimmed according to magwell.
I think there is big advantage in factory steel mags due to BHO feature. All other ones we experiment on are mostly for looks or worst case scenario

So i just received the direct fit mount from GP. I am happy to confirm that it works fine with the underfolder and with the Samson cheek rest.
I had the cheek rest installed in the middle of the stock arm, and had to move it back just about quarter inch to accomodate the side mount.
Another thing i noticed, you can fine tune the position of the cheek rest to touch the mount exactly at the locked position, this way you can kinda get rid of stock wobble in the folded position.
The mount centers nicely, but wouldnt allow to cowitness even with low profile red dot. I am waiting for a new red dot to arrive for this set up, but for now i borrowed 1x27 Swampfox Justice red dot from my PDP rig...
Cant wait to test it out at the range, i wont be getting out this weekend but hopefully the following one.
BTW.. dustcover, spring and the bolt are still removable with the mount on. Although the bolt is a bit tricky to put back in, need to press on the hammer from in front of the bolt..

I also decided to file the back of the stock à little to accept larger mags like US palm and P-mags. I fugured instead of struggling with different mags or trimming them to fit, i just reshaped the back opening à little. Works great now even with the bulkiest of mags.

Has anyone modified their MLok handguard so they could use the factory gas piston cover? I would prefer to keep it tool-less and not have to worry about having to take off small little allen keys to clean it after I shoot out in the bush
I saw one guy on here posted about it somewhere. Milled a bit of the lower handgaurd in a few spots and the original upper hand guard fit.
The selection of ak mag pouches in Canada isn't great. I ordered mine from varusteleka in Finland. Savotta also has some good looking ones. Not sure where to get a decent pouch with plastic siding though.
