Type 81 'M' Reviews, suggestions, upgrades

is that a spark AR mounted? I’m trying to find one of those mounts to mount mine on my type 81. Wasn’t sure if it would sit to high with the extra height that red dot has.

It’s the Sparc solar but the Sparc ar will work as well. The mount fits directly on the mount without the pic rail. It’s the xfiretactical mount and after shooting it quite a bit it’s at good height with the cheek rest. It’s not co-witness but it’s at a very comfortable height

right on. Yes I was in contact with that guy on GP, he said he had another shipment coming in last week but now it seems he was either banned from GP or he de activated his account it says.

Take a look on delta-dynamics website. He has them up on there. If not, send me a pm and I’ll hook you up with his contact information.

Looking for light mounting options for my SA folder. I have a Sigmaco Gen 2 front handguard on it. Ideally, I'd like some type of 45° offset mount that can clamp onto the top picatinny rail so I can mount it as far forward as possible. Has anyone done something like this and have any suggestions?

The Bulgarian polymer mags were the ones with steel inserts? Quick and easy to mod like a pmag?

Anyone know of any threads or videos that will show me how I can tighten up my underfolder assembly? It's a bit loose (wobbles up an down, understandably, but also side to side). I don't want to have to take it completely apart if I can help it.

There is no 'fine adjustment' to tighten it up. The holes in the threaded ring on the right side determine how tight the assembly is to the receiver body. 6 holes gives you 3 positions once it is tightened:

Thanks.
Another issue I noticed is that when I close the folder it doesn't quite lock down underneath the handguard. You know how the folder locks in two-stages? It only clicks into the first stage without fully locking in and only needs less than 1mm more travel to fully lock in (but the handguard is in the way). I wonder if there's a way to adjust that without removing the whole assembly.

Weird.. most of us have the opposite problem when the stock still has 1/4 inch of travel left once locked folded. When it clicks "into the first stage" does the button pop out fully ? Have you removed the handguard and seen it click into "second stage" ??

I even glued a rubber bumper so the butt doesn't hit the handguard when folded, and there is still travel.

Also, what are the chances that your butt is not fully extended, maybe it still has few degrees to rotate out.. ??

Took my 81M out for a shoot for the first time today after purchasing back in March. Initially I had issues with the dust cover not locking in place properly- was springing off each shot..performed a field strip, got that sorted. After I dialed it in with the supplied sight tools (25yrs, 50 yrs) she shot great! No fail to fire at all- from over 200 rounds today. As reliable as other Type 81's Ive handeled. The Stock caught me often on my T-shirt.
Overall, very pleased with its performance.

i took a file to those sharp ends of the stock. Just slightly rounded it up and it doesnt do it anymore.

Good call on ditching the top of the mlok hand guard. It adds a lot of unnecessary weight to an already front heavy rifle. What did you use to remove aluminum to fit the stock piston cover?
