Type 81 Owners Corner !

mine is not inaccurate at all, I can hit the 12" plate consistently at 100 right out of the box, I haven't even touched the sights...about the same as a good SKS...I'll have to shoot some paper at some point to confirm...

i ment it may be better with it off mine is also the same as a vz or sks i do like it better with the sieve off tho

Without shooting prior to removing the sleeve you'll never be able to test your theory unless you can re-pin it on and by looking at the sleeve that seems unlikely.

i did shoot it prior was getting over 5 inch groups im going to try it again regardless its not going back on i rather it off

Lol with all the mod jobs, stock t 81s will soon be like unmodified type 84 AK's in the USA. Rare, collectible and valuable. ;)

Modding a 5 moa gun is like pissing into the wind...lol... imagine if they are never imported again... lol ;) That will make it that much sweeter...lol...

The SKS81 is nothing more than a fun discussion piece over some Cognac when you have gunnies over at your house.

This basically translates to : So far my Type 81 is 12 MOA lol I do have high hopes for these guns though... trigger job and magnified optic is whats in store for my folder when it arrives.

edit, and quite possibly a custom AKM style foreend.

yes, it's at least 12 moa, and I was firing standing, unsupported...it really is a nice shooter, and the trigger on mine is really nice...best thing to ever scratch my AK itch without breaking the bank...

One can assume that unless he's chipping the edges of his plate, it's probably better than 12 MOA.

That's great you can take the wonky sleeve off.
It looks goofy as ####. Pointless added weight and steel to a simple design.
What was the purpose of it anyhow?

Truth be told, an AK style front sight out at the muzzle and a pencile barrel would have given a lighter rifle and a longer sight radius, but then it might have been classed an AK and we wouldn't be allowed to have it ;)

my video making skills are crap but i discovered this

Put a slant brake on it and call it a day. Lol

Grenade launcher. Sure it's a civilian "sporting" rifle but remains true to its origins.

I can't wait to see some hack job mods.

You could always remove the grenade launch attachment, trim original sight off gas block and pin an ak sight further down the barrel.... In theory anyways
