People need to complain about things, I decided to shoot mine and have fun instead of trying to find faults on this cheap Chinese made rifle.
well, then type81 mags , won't fit AKs, which is a pity;
at the same time, good news is that type81 mags fit SKS-KD and, if there are no FTF/FTE, then it is very nice to have two rifles with interchangeable mags
I am also going to try VZ58 mags in SKS-KD and if those fit and no issues-then SKS-KD is truly universal platform which accepts most mags from AKmoid rifles

The longer I spend on CGN the more I think that there would be less people trying to find fault with virtually everything if they would just get out and do some shooting.
Put another 100 or so rounds through the ChiCom BulletHose today. 100m, 8" gong. No problems making hits on that.
We found that to zero at 100m the sight needed to be adjusted to have the "3" showing upwards. You would think that it would be "0" or "1" there. Maybe I'll read the instructions at one point.
Cranking up the sight another ka-chunk (becuase they adjustments usre aren't anything like a "click") Got 3 hits in a row on the 200 m 8" gong and then things went downhill. Maybe the barrel heated up because we sure weren't taking our time. maybe the 2008 manufacture spam can Chinese non corrosive has accuracy limitations, too.
300 m on the 12" gong basically told us that you wouldn't want to be standing near the gong, but actual hits on the gong were basically random. I think a 24" x 24" gong would be in actual trouble though.
These threads need more shooting, less hand wringing.![]()

If there are minor imperfections, I agree. If it's crooked like a dog's leg, not for $1000. It would go back.
Please click link and watch this video from the Military Arms Channel.... They discuss the Norinco Ak's that were imported to the USA in the early 80's and how people thought they were crude and worthless, they even mention how people would run wall lazers lights down the rifle saying they were bent.... these same rifles now are called Norinco Legends and sell for upwards to $3,000.00 USD... Watch the video and feel good about the Type 81:

It's because there are a limited number which makes them collectable in the US, not because they are so wonderfully manufacturered.
I just received 2 folders. Sequentially serial numbered. One looks good. Other can shoot around corners. Going to try and get an exchange on it.
There is a review by RegularGuy on youtube of Poly AK at 18,000 rounds fired.
