Those arent "good" for anything but very poorly built guns. Back in the 90s when people started building AKs from kits and very few knew what they were doing people would use those as a band aid to keep their BCGs from jumping out of the rails.

yes wasted, those model good for garbage.... only 6-7$ if i remember...

but i have another model for sks and there are very good.

When I think about it, it may have had a lot more to do with my position and hold using the sandbags for the zero. I did take a few shots from a proper position and didn't notice a better fit but at that point I had placed my sand sock between the butt and my shoulder because I had started to bruise something fierce.

Should point out before haters chime in; I did not have a gap between the stock and my body and I know how much pressure is required in the shoulder to accommodate recoil.

I am sorry I doubted your skill, I just don't know you personally but a sincere thanks for the videos.

Now that she is zeroed I will take her back out with a mountain of milsurp ammo and give her a torture test. Doubt from everything I have seen and read that I can tighten the group up but like I said I am content with 5 MOA; it is realistic for this tool.

I do love her for her merits and, I have already rubbed it in my Yankee friends faces. Hopefully I can report a different experience with some adjustments to position and hold. I will agree with you that she is smooth and although she has a fairly long pull I actually prefer her trigger over many lower end ARs and the AK from what I can remember. The bolt hold open is also very refreshing but wish there was a button/device so I didn't have to put an empty mag in to show clear. Minor detail.

Happy shooting

You can easily show clear by activating the bolt hold open from inside the empty mag well

Curious - why would you need a recoil buffer on a gun that was designed so that the bolt doesn't hit the frame when fired? That's the only reason the receiver is longer than an AK.

Very nice, I imagine this is an AK handguard, can you elaborate on how easy/hard it was to fit onto the type 81?

Youza.

Correct Romanian AK handguard. I was able to fit most of it with a steak knife lol. Then punched out the retaining pin, fit it more and hammered the retainer down. Drilled a hole and counter sunk, put in a washer and then screwed in the bolt from the factory handguard, all i have left is re-pinning in the new place and some more fitting. Then off to the next mod!

Mounting a side receiver rail soon, anyone have any tips for it? I know the saftey is going to get in the way, guess I will have to weld a switch on the right side and grind off the left side switch?

Looks perfectly straight to me :p As u stated rather strongly in the past, there are no bent type 81s... All of us owners with bent type 81s are just lying A$$holes. Guess the shoe fits u as well now lol

I don't think I have ever called anyone on here an A$$hole and if I remember right I was being sarcastic! I was probably referring to the fact that the bends including my stock are not out of spec for intended purpose and actually get put into military circulation like that.... Keep calm champ

I don't have any noticable bend in the barrel, just the stock

Anybody have any ideas on straightening the little twist on the folding stock.... I am not gunsmith, anything I'd do my 81 would end up looking like Que Son, lol... joking ;-)

Really though any thoughts?

I'd say just leave it, in the end it may end up worse then it actually is. Iv learned this from tons of times of doing something and then realizing its worse off then what it started off as lol
