Most are running the 303M (full length lower) over the 302M (picture, rear biased). There are a bunch of upper optic mount options but the AKR 1913 is the biggest pic rail that allows for the most versatility. The challenge is finding the base plate and lower rails. If anyone has a lead on an RS 303M or CSA VZ-58 side mount please post up or DM me.Any idea which RS Regulate people are buying? What gives the best height and fit?
Short of the quad rail, has anyone figured out an easy way to mount a light to a T81?
Did you make the front furniture yourself? Did you have to knock out the 3 gas block rivets to replace the top handgyard wood? Did you have to cut the reciever at all to fit the bakelite grip? Thanks
Ya I made it myself I might make another one . Ya I centrepunched the inside of the rivets then drilled them out and replaced them with m2 hex round head nut and bolt,
The grip I just shaped the top of the grip to fit inside the t81 slots

Anyone remove (grind) the small raised lips on the TI picatinny rail base? I think that if I do that it will center on the rifle better but I am worried that it might prevent it from coming tight.
So to answer my own question. I went ahead and removed the proud lips on the rail base and it drastically improved the rail position with no effect on the ability to clamp the rail on. I also shimmed the rail base 6 thou at the rear pin to compensate for the 1.5 mm over 40cm right deviation in the barrel to receiver makeup.
the t81 pic mount not designed for AK or VZ rails so with those removed i wonder if they fit now? im guessin not.
